John and crew did an excellent job with the Hardie siding. After the old siding was removed, they found dry rot 2"x4" and joists. They replaced that as well. It turns out that the job was more expensive than planned because of the amount of dry rot that John found. He took the time to show me problems with my home and made recommendations on how to repair or replace failing components. Once started, John and crew were at my home everyday including Saturdays to complete the work. We also had to replace our posts that supports the driveway on the right side of our house because of the dry rot. The crew took care of that too. Overall, John did an excellent job. It's been 5 years now since the work has been completed and the house still looks freshly done. I had only one issue with the Hardi board siding where one of the boards came loose during a winter storm. I called John and he came the next day to nail back the siding. After that we have had no problems and am very happy with John's work and the Hardie siding installation.
Description of Work: I originally hired John to paint and replace some of my dry rot siding as many of the homes in my neighborhood in Pacifica had experienced a lot of dry rot. While the crew was power washing, we determined that almost 50% of the siding was bad. John recommended the Hardie board which is a cement siding to replace the redwood siding. John gave us two quotes, one for a Masonite siding and one for the Hardie board which was approximately 20% more.
