To me, this was a tale of two projects. At the beginning, everything moved along without a hitch. The estimate was fast and thorough. The cabinet team showed up when scheduled, and completed what they needed to do in a timely manner, and the same thing with the floor guys.There were the inevitable hiccups, and those were handled quickly and professionally. (Examples: Some of their measurements were slightly off, and they were able to get replacement cabinets made that day. One of their machines broke, causing them to miss half a day.) After they finished the majority of the installation, things seemed to fall apart. Materials were delivered to their shop, where they sat for over a week, only to be thrown away and reordered again. On two separate occasions, they missed appointments to finish the job – the first one, one of their machines broke (again), and they cancelled an hour or so before they were supposed to arrive, and the second time they just didn’t bother to show up for at all. They finally completed most of the punch list a month and a half after they were scheduled to finish. (They never finished touching up the paint – I got tired of waiting and did it myself.) To make up for the delays, they offered credit to be used toward cabinet accessories. I selected the items three weeks ago, and have yet to hear anything after asking three times for an update. Overall, I had to take way too much initiative to see that the job got finished, calling or emailing frequently to keep it on their radar.

Excellent and timely service. Gary called back immediately, came out to our home, measured, quoted us the price, and put us on the calendar. Within two weeks, they had painted our garage, installed the cabinetry, and coated the floor. All personnel, from Gary to his father to James to Kyle were punctual and pleasant. We are very pleased with the service and the finished product. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a detail person come out and clean the garage doors after the floor person did his work.

We had Custom Garages come to our house and do an estimate for putting cabinetry on all the walls of our garage. They did some measurements and discussed our needs, then programmed everything into a virtual design program and showed us what the garage would look like with everything installed. It was exactly what we wanted, and we commissioned the project. Cost was very reasonable at about $3500 for the whole garage. They built the cabinets and came back in a few weeks to do the installation, which took about half a day. Excellent materials and quality throughout, and the installers did a great job. Looks great and now we have tons of storage in the garage. The only hiccups we had were that some of the drawer and cabinet facings were damaged in transit and had to be re-cut and installed later. We also had one cabinet that was missing a coat rack and that also had to be re-installed later, but it was fairly easy to get finished.

Good sales experience...responsive, professional, good design, listened to our needs. Lack of communications between salesman and cabinet installer resulted in some re-work and delays. Also, installer of cabinets did not write things down so had to come back multiple times, resulting in more delays to a finished job. Would also have liked a little better clean up at certain points. However, they were always responsive to my phone calls and I am happy with the finished product.

The work done by Custom Garages fitted our needs perfectly. They were able to do some framing in order to install cabinets. They also helped us to get electrical work done so that the area would be better lighted.
It is important to note that they build their cabinets to order. Our space was irregular and so having cabinets of custom size made it possible to get more storage into the same space.
Everyone we worked with did a fine job of communicating with us and keeping things on schedule. The cabinets are of excellent quality and although they are in a basement they look wonderful. The net result is that things are organized, everything has a place, and in effect we have added a room to our home.

They were great! They were punctual, their pricing was good, the quality of the materials was better than other places we had looked and the work was just outstanding. There was one cabinet that didn't fit properly and they were able to fix it the next day.

The owner was on time for each appointment. He worked with me to design the cabinet configuration and demonstrated the product very thoroughly. The installation crew was on time for each day's work with the exception of the first day. In that case they called to let me know about a situation that was keeping them from arriving and then arrived at the newly agreed on time. The crew was professional, courteous and worked efficiently. They were very easy to deal with and invited comments and concerns. They dealt with some minor issues promptly and satisfactorily.

My only criticism is what appeared to be some miscommunication between the owner and crew regarding the logistics of moving my washer and dryer to paint underneath them. Where do you put a washer and dryer for several days while paint and texturing and sealing is going on? The resolution was not to move the appliances at my suggestion.

Overall I am very happy with the work and the price. I had gotten two other estimates and found Bay Area Custom Garages product to be comparable and their price was significantly lower than the other bids.

They were great and quick. They did exactly what I wanted. Everything was done right and well, but I remember them being a little pricey. They did show up on time.

We love the look of your new garage! It is transformed and we feel as if we should have done it years ago. There were a few scratches on the cabinets that he couldn't fix. But he gave us a choice of either replacing the cabinets or giving us a discount on our total bill. He resolved all our concerns and took the time to talk them through with us. We would recommend him highly to others who want to completely reorganize their garages.
