After the course of starting a site design, most of which was to be copied from another agent's site, I asked for the links to their photo data bases. Three weblinks were sent to me. I spent 9 hours over two days selecting the perfect images. When I turned them in, I was told that my photos would be at my expense, since I picked them from a link that costs ME money. This was never explained and they sent the link! I got horrible treatment. After complaining bitterly but getting no where, the salesperson who lied to me agreed to buy them himself! But that's shady and pathetic. Within one day of that resolution, if you can call it that, I learned that clients CANNOT log into my site. That service is another $50 a month. Had I know both points, I would have politely declined. The company is refusing my request for a refund of my 50% deposit, claiming the contract states No Refunds. Of course a contract copy was not supplied to me, there was no proper 3 day right of recession. I will sue.
Description of Work: This company creates extravagant websites for real estate agents. I met them at a national realtor convention in New Orleans in October 2006. At that time, I was familiar with their product because I had seen websites that they had designed for other real estate agents. They are visually attractive. Unfortunately, as I am learning the hard way, it's all smoke and mirrors. At the convention I committed to a new website from this designer based on two promises, one that all photos I would need to use would be free to me (considering the high cost of the site services) and two, all visitors would have to log onto to use the site with a legitimate email address, one that I could track. When I was promised those two things, I gave them my Mastercard. However, I was not given a copy of my contract even though I asked for one immediately. I was told it would be faxed to me after everyone returned to California from New Orleans. After much bugging, one was faxed 3 weeks later.
