Hewlett Electric

Called Hewlett Electric out of the blue and Meigs scheduled a quick walkthru of what I'd be needing. He came by early (after calling first to confirm) and wrote up a work order efficiently. He put me on his schedule for the next week.
The evening before the job, he called to confirm and asked if his crew could show up 30 minutes earlier, which I was ok with. Sure enough, they showed up on time and got right to work, and worked throughout the day to install the 4 circuits, including diagnosing some other circuits in the house and they even bought and installed a 4-prong cord in my dryer (I had mistakenly bought the 3-prong cord with the dryer.) Each step of the way they asked me questions on how I'd like to have the work done (I have an old Victorian with a lot of beadboard walls and a lot of bizarre "improvements" made by previous owners.)
I am very happy with their professionalism, their dedication, their teamwork, and their communications with me as they did the work.

Asked them to check voltage on a light, power to a heater and the grounding of some plugs. They did all three and they made repairs in the same day.

He didn't actually do the job. But, based on the professionalism he demonstrated, I believe he would do a good work. He has a relatively small crew and they can get very busy, so they can't get to your job a few weeks from when you call them. So don't call them if you want a job right away. Likewise, I don't know how responsive he would be in an emergency situation.

Their price is fair. They went above and beyond to get the job done correctly. They stand behind their work. They always show up on time and call to confirm the appointment. We worked with Meg and Bryan, who are very professional individuals. They came with me to pick out the light fixtures, which I appreciated.

They arrived on time, Proceeded to do the work. They were very courteous and cleaned up after the work was done. Very satisfied.

I didn't hire them. They were quick to respond. The other company gave me a better price, so I went with that company. I would consider using Hewlett Electric in the future.

I can't recommend these guys highly enough. Not only was everything done for an incredible price, they were quick, utterly professional, and kept us in the loop for the entire process. We needed a lot of work for our older home. We needed a new electrical panel and updates to almost the entire system, thanks to shoddy work done by the previous owner's contractor. They fixed everything, including a few things even the property inspector had missed. For the entire process they told us exactly what our options were, what they were doing, and why. They were the single best contractor we worked with in our home renovation. They don't have a lot of Angie's List reviews for some reason, but if you look them up on Google or Yelp you can see what other customers thought.
