Repair man came out and after looking at the fridge/freezer stated "that it needed freon" and that with the reguested replacement of a water filter the cost would be "$240.00.
I am the son in law of the 88 year old man that called {Fast and Easy Applicance} my wife who lives with her father, who made the call, did not feel right about the diagnosis made, { It needs freon and with the filter it will cost $240.00} and I need to come out tomorrow to make the repairs. My question is what appliance repair man that knows in advance that he is to work on a refrigerator doesn't have freon with him and a generic filter?My wife called me and explained the situation and I smelled a rat and advised to suck up the $40.00 service call and call some body reputable. We called someone on your list. They will be reviewed after they come out.
I may be paoinoid, but the above just didn't sound right.
