Also I am retired and when I got the first quote which I felt was about what I expected I asked Tim if there was anything he could do to save me a little money. Instead of cutting the quality of the work he sent me a new quote @10% less. Very fair price.
No heavy rain since the work was done but I expect it will do fine. I gave a B on responsiveness but to be fair it was during the one big storm we had and they were over run with work. I have used they before and will do so in the future.

The roofers showed up on the date they were suppose to show up; kudos to Elite for that. However, Sam and Tim both assured me this was going to be a 3-day job. The job took 5 days. There was a one day delay because their shingle supplier ran out of shingles. I got 2 conflicting stories about why there was a second one-day delay—the roofer lead got sick and it was too hot to lay down shingles.
The good: The roof looks great (it hasn’t rained yet so I don’t yet know how water tight the new roof is). Sam or Tim did show up at the job site, about once a day, to check on the work. Also, I got to switch from a 30-year shingle to a 40-shingle at the end of the first day.
The bad: It took 5 days instead of 3. On the first day, the workers, when they were backing up the truck, hit my gutters; I was getting the gutters replaced, so, in this case, it was no big deal. On the second and fourth day, all the workers left in the middle of the day without telling me what was going on.
Caution: You want to move all your breakables as far away from the roof line as possible. Lots of debris falls from the roof and lands on the ground. Also, there are lots of electrical cords, air compressor hoses, and other stuff dangling from the room and touching the ground; these cords and hoses will knock down your garden ornaments. If you leave the door to the garage unlocked, the workers, without asking, will enter the garage; in my case, they were looking for additional electrical outlets. I would have let them use the outlets, if they asked—they should have asked first. And, if you are not getting your gutters replaced, you might want to keep on eye on your gutters as they tear off the old roof—they are not gentle on the old gutters. Also, the new gutter replacement is contracted out.
"Thank you for your review. We were happy that you were impressed with Sam and our estimate for the dry-rot and re-roof we 'spot-on' and you are happy with your new roof however I am sorry to hear about your 3 day to 5 day re-roof project. I will attempt to address this issue: The delay was due to the upgrade of material - after the first day- you made after we completed the dry-rot areas. Due to this last minute change in material from a 30 yr to 40 yr shingle our supplier did not have any in stock. We attempted to get the material as soon as possible and complete your job as soon as we could, but due to this last minute change it was out of our hands. We do apologize. Regarding the 'second-delay' we did have a very hot day where one our our workers did experience some heat exhaustion and it did become too hot to lay the shingles, however we do apologize if that wasn't relayed to you at the time. Also, because of the delay in delivery, we were not able to have as many crew members on your project as we were trying to keep on schedule with all projects. Our roofers normally don't bother the homeowners (or tenants) with their departure, but we will address that in our meeting this Friday. Re-roofing is a VERY messy & dirty job and yes unfortunately debris is all part of process thus you may recall the "Preparing For Our Arrival" form that you were given & signed that details the process of our work. It explains exactly what to expect during our work, (the mess, cords, needing access to electric, debris falling, clearing of the driveway, removal of outside items that maybe breakable, pets, access to yards, etc) This form explains all the items you listed in your review as a concern for the homeowner to be aware of thus why we have this form - to prepare them for our arrival. We also state that if the garage is open our crews will enter to broom/blow out any debris from the garage. Again we are sorry that they entered the garage for electric without asking please rest assured our employees have been with us many years and are background checked. However we will address this also in our Friday meeting. Again we thank you for your kind words and feedback. With your feedback we can find ways to improve our service."

Sam from Elite Roofing responded quickly to my call regarding a new roof to half the home's total roof. He came, inspected, spoke with us regarding what the job would entail and if we had concerns/questions. We had a couple of estimates by other roofers , one who told us that the other half of the roof may need to be reroofed as well. Sam, not only gave us a competitive price but assured us that the other half of the roof was in good condition and wouldn't need any work. We were impressed with his straightforwardness and appreciated his honesty.
The workers were punctual, hardworking and advised us of any concerns/requirements that they might have had when they were on the jobsite. They tarped the areas needed and removed any debris, including tree branches that were in the way of the roofing job. The entire job took 2 1/2 days, as was approximated by Sam and we were happy that it was finished so swiftly without any undue interruptions.
We would definitely use Elite Roofing's services again and are happy to recommend to friends/family.
