LA RUE GENERAL CONTRACTING

Turns out that William R. La Rue, of La Rue General Contractors, Inc. told us that he had been a licensed contractor for 30 years, which was a lie. He used other people's licenses and turned out he had prior citations and 15 violations - (Citation #2 2005 003173 & #2 2005 003173-CSLB).  He failed to put in the required dedicated circuits for my appliances, had numerous code violations, fraudulently obtained an e-permit when a plan check permit was required and walked off the job when confronted with the problems among other problems.  He sent a fraudulent change order and filed fraudulent lien and foreclosure of the lien.  It turns out that he had done this to numerous other homeowners in the past.  I fought him in court and got the lien expunged and reported him to CSLB, which then filed an accusation against him and another Citation (#N 2009 000371) and additional 4 violations.  The State Attorney General's put him on probation.  You can read about it at the CSLB site under his license #844294.

Bill was extremely easy to work with. He was not a hard sell. He went with whatever we wanted. His workers were great. They were very nice guys. They were so prompt you could time them! They came when they said they would and left when they said they would. They were neat. They did great work! I appreciated Bill's opinion when needed, however he always allowed us to be the final decision maker with no real pressure. This was a very pleasant experience. We are thinking of putting on a room addition and we are definitely thinking of hiring him again.
