Malibu Pool Service

Awful. My pool had turned green after the loss of my pool man for 10 years. I was struggling to find a reliable pool service. Let me preface this by saying that I have a 41 year old pool that requires some extra TLC and someone knowledgeable in the field. I spoke to Phil on the phone and he is quite a talker. Made me believe that he actually knew what he was talking about. He said he would need to come out and brush the algae, add chemicals and clean the filter for at least three consecutive days. I decided to give him a chance. He showed up and brushed the algae around threw some chemicals in and then didn't come back for 5 days! When he came back he did more of the same....my pool was still green and he said it needed all sorts of chemicals. During this time he sent me an invoice for chemicals and a filter cleaning. My husband noticed that the filter had not been cleaned so he wrote him a check for only the chemicals (we will never know if we actually got the chemicals we paid for). When I brought it up to Phil he came up with a very flimsy/shady excuse. He then doesn't show up for another week and tells me that my pool is stained and will need to be drained, powerwashed, and a myriad of other things...oh and the best part about it is that he "knew some guys" that could do all this work for me. That day he dumped a ton of granulated water conditioner into the pool and spa. He never bothered to mix it in. He left it sitting at the bottom of the pool and spa. He also spilled it and LEFT it all over my deck. I have three children and various pets. Complete disregard for my property or the safety of my family. I later noticed that he also spilled it all over my driveway as well. The conditioner never dissolved and is still sitting at the bottom of my pool and spa step. Ive since had my pool looked at by three different contractors that were appalled by his carelessness and complete lack of knowledge in pool cleaning. One of them was able to wipe the algae with a mere kitchen broom proving to me that it was not stained as Phil had told me. He screwed up the chemistry in my pool so bad that I'm now facing having to drain a 30,000 gallon pool. Be wary of hiring Phil. He will take advantage of your lack of knowledge. He showed NO remorse nor did he apologize for any of it. He seems to know a lot of "guys" that can get the work done for you while he bad mouths everyone else.
