A & B Malibu Plumbing

Will never use them again.

It was a disaster. I have fired A&B Plumbing and will NEVER use them ever again for any reason. I strongly advise others to learn from my mistakes and not hire them .This is not the first time I have had trouble with them and been very dissatisfied with their service, which is abominable. I only used them this time because it was an emergent situation .

My 94 year old grandmother arranged for A&B Plumbing to send a technician to her house in West LA to replace her garbage disposal on Friday, January 22, 2010. The technician did not provide an estimate of the cost. Instead, after replacing the garbage disposal, which took approximately 45 minutes, he presented her with a bill for $807.00. She paid the bill rather than get into a confrontation with him. The bill did not explain how the charges were determined. The parts can be purchased retail for no more than $200, which means she was charged over $600 for less than an hour of labor. I believe the technician took advantage of an elderly woman. In two phone calls to ask the company how they determine charges for replacing a garbage disposal, or what their hourly labor rates are, company personnel stated that they would not provide any information about how charges are determined over the phone, and the only way to get pricing information would be to have a technician come to the house (for a $57.50 service charge).

They cleaned the tank...what else could I say.

They were very responsive and good. Their prices are a bit high and everybody over here charges Malibu prices.

The plumber did not arrive during the range of four hours stated, so we had to call A&B again to get someone here. When the plumber was finishing up, I happened to walk out into the garage where water was pouring out of the ceiling, which is also the floor of the master bedroom/bath. He said it wasn't his fault. How could that have been a coincidence? So for an additional fee on the next day, he and an assistant cut 16 X 16-inch holes in the wall of the master bedroom and in the garage's ceiling to fix the leaking pipe, which they did. We were left with the two holes plus the gouged, discolored sink from the original job.

THEY TOOK THEIR TIME AND DID IT RIGHT. THEY REPAIRED IT AS QUICKLY AND AS QUIETLY AS THEY COULD. THEY WERE NICE AND WILLING TO HELP. I WOULD HIRE THEM FOR ANOTHER JOB AGAIN.

THEY WERE VERY FAST AND PROMPT WITH THE WORK AT HAND. THEY HAD EVERYTHING ORGANIZED AND READY TO WORK WITH. THEY HAD EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE, THEREFORE IT WASN'T A PROBLEM.
