Jose Mendez Tile

Jose and his team were very nice and professional. Jose answered all our questions and communicated with us throughout the process. The job was well done! Visitors are always complimentary about the floor work. We would definitely hire Jose for future tiling and recommend him to our friends.

I had to have my kitchen floor regrouted due to the existing grout was coming out & I had to have a few cracked tiles replaced. The services were excellent. Very professional & my floor looks great. I would definitely hire again.

Jose and his son Loui were great! We had been delayed by another contractor for tiling the floor in one room and it needed to be completed by a specific time. When we called Jose he immediately came to give a quote which was unbelievably lower than the other quotes we had received. Loui started 2 days later and finished by our deadline and did an excellent job. I would not only hire again, I would have paid more. Loui, was meticulous , conscientious and respectful. They both were very professional.

We took five quotes. Some tile men would walk in and say "$3500"' with no explanation why. The Mendez company came out and spent a half hour with us, explaining all the difficulties they saw, giving us different options to attack those problems, and different price structures that we could consider. They were the most thoughtful, intelligent, and friendly of the contractors we met. What's more their quote was the lowest, as much as $2300 cheaper than other quotes. Did I say they are true craftsman, with some 100 years of experience between the three. The final finished job was just outstanding and for the price, well just unbelievable. Highest possible rating.

I have a 1923 house and am in love with its period details. I love my bathroom design but unfortunately it was beyond repair. I had Jose and his son come out for tile work. They did demo, replaced the rotted subfloor and recreated the tile in the exact same pattern. It wasn’t an easy bathroom as after so many years there was a lot of settling and unevenness. Jose always made sure everything was even and visually appealing. Jose is a true craftsman, one that is hard to find. His son is a budding craftsman as well and they make a great father/son business. I never had any problems: they were clean, always on time and finished the job within a reasonable time period. The price was very fair too. Incidentally, this this is the second job Jose has done for me. He did my kitchen floor a few years back in a very difficult pattern which is why I hired him back for the bathroom. I plan on hiring them again as well to do a Spanish tile design on the front of my house. I have no hesitation recommending them both for any tile work.

Jose put down floor protectors and hung plastic to contain any dust and debris. The work was more extensive than we had originally guessed, but Jose brought in appropriate assistants each step of the way. He is very pleasant to work with and has a positive attitude. I picked out the different tiles, but I let Jose design the "look" because he has a vision of the final project. Midway through the project, I decided to replace the bathroom window. He brought in a person to get that work done. We are so grateful for all his hard work. The bathroom turned out better than we expected.

I am very happy with the results! Loui successfully tackled a difficult herringbone pattern and now the rooms look fantastic.

Jose, Loui, and their team were meticulous with their work, and very respectful and conscientious of our home (pets/kids) during the time they were here. During the demo process, they were sure to cover all doorways with plastic to avoid dust entering the rest of the house, and covered all other surfaces. The demo was very quick & efficient. During the installation process, they were just as thorough and respectful.

We had slab countertops installed by a stone company, and Jose and his son, Loui were great about communication with regards to the installation so that they could start right away with the new subway tile backsplash. We appreciated that there was no gap time in between which made the project flow very smoothly.

Our new subway tile is so beautifully done, Jose is absolutely meticulous with his lines/etc, it looks amazing. I also wanted charcoal grout and metal trimming, and they were very thorough with multiple samples/etc to be sure the outcome was exactly what we wanted. We couldn't be happier with Jose and his entire team.

From start to finish, everything went great.  Jose gave us an estimate and a couple of weeks later he started working on the project. He demoed the old tiles, cleaned the area and then started installing the new tiles. He leveled to stoop since it was somewhat unleveled. He is VERY meticulous and very professional, he took his time to install the new tiles, making sure the grout lines were all even and exactly what I wanted (very thin). Jose created the bullnose for the step and it looks great. Exactly what we wanted. He was very patient and any questions that I had he explained to me in detail. On his last day he came over, caulked the edges and sealed the travertine. I will absolutely use Jose again.

Mendez Tile came to our house, took measurements, and
presented us with an estimate which served as the basis for our contract. They
ordered and picked up the tiles, grout and other construction materials as
needed during installation. They carefully covered exposed surfaces in all work
areas prior to actual removal and installation. They were careful to clean up
after themselves every day, and to consider our needs for access each evening
before they left us. Installation was done carefully and deliberately over a
period of 9 working days. An unexpected sub-flooring problem was handled
professionally with minimal interruption and job delay.
 
We are very pleased with the final product and its
appearance. The finances were primarily processed via e-mail with
clarifications negotiated by phone and direct contact. All the workers who
participated on the job were courteous and friendly. Mendez Tile, as agreed
originally, started the work and stayed on the job without interruption or
diversions until it was completed to our satisfaction.

Jose's son and another tile man did a marvelous job of prepping and tiling a large 26'x5' balcony.  They came on time each day and were meticulous in clean up.  We will certainly use them again!

We received a thoroughly specific bid from Loui, Jose's son, which we found extremely helpful  Other bids were far too general.  He worked for three days with a helper quietly and professionally, taking care to cover our carpeting and safeguard the areas where they were working. The work itself was excellent and he actually did more than he had to do when he saw that some small thing needed repair. We are very pleased with the work, the professionalism, and the work ethic, and would highly recommended Jose Mendez Tile.

He did an artistic, wonderful job.  He's a fine craftsman who works diligently and supervises those he works with.

I worked primarily with Luis who was a pleasure to work with. The bathroom looked great and was completed in a timely manner. They also had the best price of those we contacted. Luis even completed the work on New Year's Day since we had a deadline. I was very happy with all aspects of the job, will use them again, and recommend them to others.

Mr. Mendez, his son and his worker did a great job.
They had to demolish a water damaged wood floor, carefully preserving the oak baseboards, and install the new tile.  They added a thin layer underneath to raise the floor so it reached the exact height of the adjacent rooms.  Our tile had a very subtle stone pattern, and Mr. Mendez did a wonderful job matching the tiles so it flowed. One side of the room had a natural stone fireplace at an angle, and they had to cut the tiles so it fit naturally with a small grout edge.  It was a difficult job and their work was excellent.
They were also extremely punctual and courteous.  They called to let us know the one time they were going to be ten minutes late.  They were also careful about putting up plastic so the dust from the family room didn't spread to the rest of the house.  They worked diligently to meet our time frame.
