Los Gatos Electric provided a great turn key operation. Jim coordinated delivery of the replacement generator, also coordinated enlarging the cement pad and installation of the unit. He replaced my 25 year old generator with a Generac Generator. And hooked it up to the existing automatic switching panel which saved me time and money. Overall, I thought it was an excellent effort.

They did an outstanding job locating the problem and fixing it.

Problems with wiring of outlets, switches and light fixtures werre diagnosed and repaired safely.

he upgraded the circuit breaker so my new dryer would run.

I think it's a bit of a scam. They ask for $109 to do a quote. So I paid. Then a person came reviewed the work I wanted. He couldn't answer questions and didn't really about light fixtures and ac / windows. Anyway, I never heard back for weeks. I called. They didn't have the information and sent a person who said was the owner manager. He seemed to know his stuff. So I thought it was going well now. However, then I never heard from them again for weeks. I followed. I was told there was a family emergency and the second assessor is not there. They offered a third person to come to the full assessment again. I have to take time from work to show them and take them through everything. So I declined as if they need to send three separate people to do one quote. I don't want them doing the job. I asked for a refund since I never got any quote. Weeks later I haven't heard again. Scamming people for money for quotes and don't offer any actual work.

Excellent service

Signed contract in October 2015. Started work in December 2016. As of June 2016, project still not completed. Contacted another licensed electrician who reviewed the work and had to re-wire the entire (new) panel in order for it to pass inspection. Generator wiring conduit was not up to code, new electrician had to remove and install correct flex pipe. Los Gatos Electric workers also seriously damaged a retaining wall, although did offer to take a few hundred $$ of the bill. Granted, the wall was not in good condition to begin with, but could have lasted a few more years if they had not damaged it. Had to accelerate the retaining wall replacement as a result at a cost of $20,000. Due to delays in completion, we also had to pay an extra $350 to have the inspection time frame extended. (Which LGE offered to split the cost with us. Although we would not have had to extend the inspection time frame if the project had been completed on time.) When the project was finally complete, and passed inspection, we had to spend an additional $2,000.00 on top of the $8,000+ we had already paid Los Gatos Electric. Notes: LGE was paid at every milestone completed as they requested. We also took care of all the prep work, underground cables, pipes and pouring a concrete pad for the generator. We were also present every day they worked on the project to provide any support, extra tools, soldering wires, lending a hand to move things around, and provided cold drinks and sandwiches on occasion (and a patio heater when it was cold). I understand companies get busy, but when someone has paid you on time, every time and there are only a few things left to complete the project, seems to me it would be wise to make the effort to complete a project before moving on to the next customer.
