Willems construction

This has been the most positive, productive experience we've ever had with any contractor of any kind. We would not think of using anyone else for a complex project. We interviewed many general contractors before finding Brian Willems. We selected this firm, because he had thoughtful solutions for complex problems in a somewhat deteriorated historic home. He quoted out the stages of the work with precision and accuracy. Identified key decisions and worked with us to make sure work would meet our preferences. He interviewed many subcontractors for each stage of the job; worked with us to make sure we would be comfortable with them, and closely supervised their work. Took full responsibility for subs, including holding us harmless financially when one of the subs needed to be terminated. Kept the site clean and made sure that construction created no hazards for our children. He helped us make key decisions - type of HVAC system, paint colors, choices between lower cost and higher quality, etc. Helped us work through issues with our architect. Kept all aspects of the job moving smoothly. Politely reminded us of decisions needed from us to keep the work going. Contractor warned us in advance that he would be more expensive than other general contractors. In fact, his good judgement and his negotiations with subs have saved us far more money than we could have "saved" by going with other general contractors who might have put in a lower initial bid. Results are beautiful!
