He's not professional and I cannot trust them. When I was writing the check I asked him what is his name and he gave me his drivers license instead. He said all my information is on the email I sent to you I said I need your full name to put on the check, then he said I can put in the business name instead and then I said I need his name and I was really upset. I said I need to know who he is because he came to my property and instead of answering he gave me back the driver's license.

There bait and switch is $35 per appliance to come out to be applied to job, but no hourly rate. I supplied hoses to be placed on a dishwasher. Tech showed me there were more that needed to be replaced. I asked for him to list them. I offered a parts catalog to circle the broken hoses. He refused, but made notes in his ipad. This took half hour. The next half hour replaced ice maker water line in refrigerator with two connectors. At the end wanted $200. Didn't give me estimate. I paid. Hasn't given me list of hoses. Only given me estimate of doing whole dishwasher repair. Rip-off artists.

Do not use West Coast Chief Repair aka Chief Appliance. If your Home Warranty company is booking them for a repair you can decline and ask for another company. Our Air Conditioner went out in September 2019. We paid $1465 and the Home Warranty company paid approximately $5000 to have a new system put in. Sometime in 2020 we saw water marks on our ceiling in the guest room but the Air Conditioner was in the attic at the front of the house and the thermostat was in the hallway, so it didn't occur to us that it was coming from the air conditioner. Being in the middle of the pandemic and suffering two deaths in the family, water marks on the ceiling were not our first priority. We thought we had caused it by spraying water on a wasp nest outside the house and so waited until we were ready to do a remodel to do anything about it. We are now remodeling the guest room and when our contractor tore out the ceiling he discovered that the condensation tube was not installed correctly and was leaking. When I called West Coast Chief Repair, Sean Zovk said there was only a 90 day warranty and that since it passed inspection by the city that it must have been fine. He said they could send someone to look at it for $75 and then we would have to pay for the repair. They would not pay for the ceiling that we had to have replaced. I spoke to Ashley later who offered to waive the $75 fee, but it still would have had the same result. My contractor fixed the problem in 5 minutes, but we now have to pay to have the ceiling replaced. So my warning to you is to ask about warranties and to inspect the work yourself. There was so much insulation in the ceiling that the water marks didn't show up until after the warranty period was over. A 90 day warranty is not long enough for an expensive repair like replacing an air conditioner.

Rep came same day within time frame agreed upon. Told me apart would have to be ordered and I would be called back next day with estimate of repair costs. No call back so I called late Friday afternoon. Was told by office person that research for part was still underway and they would call me back. It is now the next afternoon and I have still received no call. Was the goal just to take my $65 service fee and leave me with a broken machine? I am a senior on a fixed income who used Angie's List for the first time, using your recommended servicer. I do not think I will use you again.

"Hello, We came out to service your property Thursday afternoon and only got a hold of manufacturer next day Friday to do price check and availability, which they advised to stand by for an update. We have finally received and update and estimate is ready - please give me a call back to follow up, I have just left a voicemail. Thank you"

Done in less than 5 minutes and charged $119 for that time! Absurd. This company has a lot of poor reviews and now I know why. In this case, the technician never even told me how much it would cost ahead of time. Had I known it would cost that much, I would have paid the $65 service fee and sent him packing. Don't waste your time or money going with them. They called me even before I had selected a company and I thought I would give them a try. Now I am the one that looks like a fool.
Response from West Coast Chief Repair Inc
"Hello Sir, my name is Sean, GM here. Can you please give me a call to follow up on this request. Looks like you had failure with the door hinge on dishwasher and as my tech started to inspect for failure, we had to completely disassemble and reassemble in order to see failure, which resulted in a repair. Please contact me to see what I can do for you on price. Thank you"

The serviceman arrived in the allotted time and discovered the problem. He left to get a replacement returned promptly and installed the part, which solved the problem. He was very professional. He showed us the broken part and described the work needed.

This is a review of the company out of the Burbank, CA office and specifically of the a/c subcontractor Akop Akopyan who did all the work in one day single-handedly.   He is a real professional, and on a very hot day, came and did everything necessary by himself and excellently.  These large wall a/c replacements in the past have required 2-3 workers on separate dates to deliver the product, make the carpentry modifications and then install the unit.  Thus man did everything in about 4-5 hours, and the results have been quite good and the price reasonable. I plan to use Atop again.  The company is easy to each. polite and responsive.  I specifically recommend Atop for his industriousness and methodical care as a tech.  What a relief!

I just bought a condo which had American Home Shield insurance on the property.  My fireplace broke, which is my heat source for the room.  They came out, I paid a  $60 fee, and was told that they didn't have the part to fix it, it was something to do with a safety switch.  The insurance wouldn't pay to have it fixed, so I called the company a month later to have it fixed, and I would pay. They informed me that they would have to replace the entire fireplace.  Why did the technician tell me something different?  I asked the phone rep and he said that he didn't come out, he didn't know and it wasn't his issue.  How unprofessional of this company! They lied and were not reputable to an individual, versus the insurance company.

Gordon managed it all;  he said it would be done and it was.   absolutely unintrusive - tenant only knew the work was going on by the results, or if the tenant went into the back yard while the work was going on.  i still do not understand how he did all that with  no fuss, no mess, no noise - but he did.  at the end, the whole set up was so attractively placed that the tenant called me to say "you must come up and look " - they were pleased by a water heater in their back yard.  now THAT is art, a plumber who knows what he's doing and cares about it.

I called and they said they would be there in 35 minutes.  I heard them come into the back of unit 29.  I didn't even know they were there until I heard them talking. I went downstairs with the phone in my hand as I was speaking to the company wondering where they were.  The man working on the dryer just looked at me and left.  I had to ask what was wrong with it and he told me that the control panel needed replaced.  I asked where it was and he told me he already showed me and he hadn't. I then asked how do you replace the control panel and he looked at me like I didn't need to know.  I went upstairs to write a check for $35 and called the boss Michael.  When I got downstairs, he was gone. I asked Michael what I should do with the check as the man just left without waiting for me and he said it would go into the $240 to fix it - I wasn't told of this estimate until then.  This company is not happy when a woman is paying their bills and wants to know what is going on.

I called the company and told someone that answered the phone the whole story. I was put on hold for a long time. Someone came on and made me tell the whole entire story again. Then they put me on hold. For a long time. Then they came back and told me that a supervisor would call me in an hour.
That did not happen. Many hours went by. Finally someone called me who said he was a supervisor. But he did not know the details of the story that I had told already to two other employees. I had to tell him the whole story again.
Gist of it is, he offered me TEN PERCENT OFF LABOR if I used the company again. Can you believe that? TEN PERCENT OFF/?  That could be as little as five dollars. It probably wouldn't be more than ten or fifteen dollars. To be jerked around again by a company that doesn't take down the problem when you call for repair, and then has lots of employees who don't bother to take any notes when there is a customer service issue. I will never deal with this company again! It is not worth the trouble -- there are better companies out there.
I have had problems with this company in the past -- I once called for repair of my dishwasher and the guy just said, I can't do anything about your dishwasher. He didn't fiddle with it or anything, just charged me the service fee. I have had repair of a microwave, but I'm sure I can find a company better than this one.
I hate to say that I hate dealing with Russians, as I am of Russian heritage and completely hate racism and xenophobia, but I really hate dealing with Russian appliance technicians and plumbers. I have had them do shoddy, substandard word and lie to me that it was done right. Of course, I have had Russian technicians who were competent, but many more times I have had problems with Russians. (My mom says they were all engineers in Russia, which may be why they have such bad attitudes.) West Coast Chief Repair is ALL Russians, and I should have learned my lesson with the dishwasher guy, but I was too lazy to look on Angie's List yesterday and find a HIGHLY RATED company to call for my washing machine hose problem. I just called this company because I've called them before, albeit with mixed results. However, I will never call them again -- not listening to my original service request, sending someone who couldn't/wouldn't do the job, and having to tell the situation to three separate people and only being offered a TEN PERCENT discount (and only on labor, not on parts!) is the last straw.
Oh, I once called them because my fridge freezes things where it shouldn't, and the guy didn't bother do do much to figure out the problem that time, either. Another Russian. Didn't fiddle with anything, just said he couldn't fix it and left. I paid the service fee but got nothing.
Don't call this company. Call another company.  At least with another company, you have some chance of having a good outcome. With this company you have very little chance of having any work performed, let alone problems solved.

One day the floor heater was not turning on. Even after we had been using it for the past 2 months and it had worked just fine.
We called WestCoast to come look at it, since they had fixed it 5 years ago.  At a cost of $880.00-Replacing many of the parts.
This time they came out and charged us a $80.00 service fee.
BUT the weird thing is the tech said that we needed to replace all the parts at a cost of $880.00 !
AGAIN?
We live in Southern california where we don't need to heat the house very often. (3 months out of the year is not that much use.)
Ok so WestCoast was prompt and curtious but truthful -I think not.
We called and talked to Sean the head guy at WestCoast and he ran through the issues and did his song and dance about old floor heaters and assured us we needed to replace everything just as we did before, and that the tech was qualified to work on these units...yadda yadda yadda.
Well, we decided to call another Heating company- They came out and said everything was just fine with the unit but that the thermostat needed replacing for $85.00.  We could not believe that the tech replaced the thermostat, clicked it on and we have been enjoying the heater and it is working great at a cost of $85.00 for the part and $80.00 for the call.
NOT $850.00.
We feel WestCoast are nor good honest folks.
Sorry will never use or trust these guys again.

I asked for the old part and did an internet search on the part number.  Imagine my surprise
when the $385 part from West Coast could be bought on-line for between
$65 and $100.  I called West Coast and spoke to Sean, who gave me a
story about their parts being better and "guaranteed".  I asked how much
they paid for the part, or what the mark up was.  I could accept 100%
markup for their trouble but 400%.  This is ridiculous.  Just hung up
with Sean who told me he stands by his price (but would not tell me the
actual price or mark-up).  Needless to say - NO MORE WEST COAST CHIEF.

Ironically, once this review and others were posted - Sean called again and offered us $100 if we were to remove reviews. We said NO.

Alex, from West Coast Chief Repair, is the Appliance Guru, the Fridge Whisperer and he also has a way with ovens.  Fixing the fridge was no easy task and took a couple of visits but he found the fault and fixed it when I know others would have walked away and told me to buy a new one.  West Coast Chief Repair are very responsive, polite and efficient, I wouldn't call anyone else.

Homeowners Warranty Policy company sent WCCR to our home to investigate problem with gas forced air furnace. End result, replace unit. Homeowners approved. Prior to work commencement, WCCR sent us a quote for non-covered charges. When work was performed, half of the non-covered charge items either were not neccesary and therefore not done, or were not done to the degree agreed upon with WCCR prior to work beginning. Had to have lengthy conversation to get them to modify charges and I was still suffering heartburn over their lack of honest negotiation.

The technician did not know how to remove the casing to look at the work area. He forced the door open. Did not know the electronics. Did not have knowledge of the machine. Found a dangling wire, which he had removed by mistake when forcing the door open. Did not know where to put it. A complete waste of money and time.
