Great! Craig showed up the next day and found that the reglaze wasn't needed bc the old tub was in great shape. It just needed to be stripped, buffed and polished. He charged me $100 less than the quote AND I shouldn't ever have to reglaze it again!!!

Tub looks good, but they left my window screen white with permanent residue from the funnel they used to ventilate from the toxic process.  I emailed and called Craig to ask about my window screen because I tried cleaning it without success and it has to be replaced, he basically told me tough luck.  Even a tiny amount of customer care would have gone a long way with me, but he offered up nothing except "try acetone."  I would stop payment on my check but I don't have time for the hassle.  I should waited the extra two weeks when Bill Syms Bath Maintenace was available.

We scheduled the job for July 29. Craig was scheduled to come take a look at the job and discuss it with me beforehand; he forgot the first appointment but I called him and we rescheduled it and he did come that time. On "game day" Craig and Hector showed up right on time and got the job done in exactly the time frame expected, about 2.5 hours per tub. It takes quite a while because they acid-wash each tub and they mask off everything in the bathroom. They were able to rehang the tub enclosure doors for one tub that day, but not the other because the hardware was a little different and they didn't want to damage the new surface.
Craig explained how to take care of the new surfaces and also emailed me care instructions that evening. Three days after the reglazing job Craig and Hector returned to hang the other doors and they also caulked around both tubs, which they couldn't do before the surface had hardened.
Tub Boys charges $250 per tub for reglazing and $50 to come back and rehang all doors, caulk, etc., so I paid $550 total. I talked with other companies and Tub Boys charges are very reasonable. The tubs look soooo much better, although it's not quite as perfectly smooth as a new tub would be. Craig explained why this is: in the olden days the cast-iron tubs were coated in porcelain and fired in a kiln, and reglazing, which is a spray done with the tub in place, will not reproduce the original look perfectly. He also said that cleaning the tub will actually buff the surface over time so it will appear smoother. This was all very interesting because I knew absolutely nothing about this. Anyway, I do recommend Tub Boys and would use them again. I also think this is a much better solution than getting new tubs because they don't make them like they used to!

Craig somehow magically got the stain out and showed me what to do if it happens again. He fixed the chips in both tubs, but his simpler approach meant that he did not need to do a resurfacing of the stained tub. It saved me much time, and the nice iron tub now has its integrity back. But he didn't make as much money as a result of his honesty. I find this refreshing and rare.

Reglazing was not smooth on the inside of the sink. I requested Craig come back which he did to smooth it out but there wasn't much improvement. Within a week rust was appearing around the chrome drain. When I asked to get this fixed it took several emails, a phone call and approximately two weeks before he responded. Once he responded, he did come right away and reglaze the sink after we had taken out the drain. Nice young man. Sorry this review couldn't have been better.
