They arrived in my neighborhood and started cutting a tree right above my brand new car. There was no warning that this would be happening. Who cuts a tree above a parked car?

It was an excellent experience, again.  
Also, their crew did a great job protecting my newly sprouting vegetables and fruits in my garden (a replacement for the grass that I stopped watering).  Not one plant was harmed (a miracle).

I was referred to Tree King by another landscaping company for a relatively small job. In February 2014, a neighbor's gardener had damaged our hedge while attempting to trim it, leaving huge uneven patches and the 6-foot stump of an injured loquat tree. I contacted Mark Bruna at Tree King for an estimate of removing the stump and cleaning up the hedge so it would grow back properly. He was prompt and professional in his assessment, appeared knowledgeable about the issues involved, and gave me an estimate of $375.
The problems began several days later when I called to schedule the actual work. The front desk was unable to answer any questions, referring me to Mark's voicemail or cell phone. It usually took about 3 messages to get a call back. It took almost a month to get Mark on the line and actually schedule the work. I arranged to work from home the scheduled day in order to be available during the 9-12 noon window they'd given me. At 1 pm, I called to see if they were still coming. Around 1:30 I got the answer that they were running late on another job and would need to reschedule. It was not clear at what point they would have notified me if I hadn't called. We went through another couple rounds of voicemail before I reached Mark while he was in the office and scheduled another 3-hour window two weeks later.
I again arranged to work from home in order to be available. This time I called the front office around 10 am to check on their progress. The woman at the front desk asked me if I was sure Mark had given me a date, because I wasn't on the calendar for that day or any other day. There was no chance of anyone coming out that day, and no apology for the error. I never received a callback from the message I left for Mark.
In the end, after 2 months of mostly unreturned voicemails and two instances of being left waiting for arborists who never showed up, I went with a different vendor for half the price quoted by Tree King.

It was very professional. They knew what they were doing. It was thorough and they cleaned up.

We've actually used Tree King a number of times over the years and, though their services are costly, they consistently do a good job. The work we had done this time involved quite a few trees that needed pruning and the results were excellent. Their pruning resulted in the lacing of our trees to the point where much more light filters down through the trees and more light comes into the house. No tree was over-pruned. Their crew is large, everyone has a job, and all seem to know what they're doing. Clean-up, as usual, was complete.

The front office is quite poor at follow-through. They did not keep us updated to let us know when we could possibly be scheduled for their service. We had to call them several times for this. After two months of calling, it was becoming frustrating.
However....once they got here, they were very professional, conscientious and efficient. They did the work beautifully, and they cleaned up completely. We have used their service several times over the years and have always found this to be the case. That is why we persevered. In the end, it was worth it.

Joe showed up to give the estimate on Sunday on time, we agreed to do the work the next day, his crew showed up on time and performed all work in a few hours, cleaned up after themselves. Excellent work!

An arborist came to our house to consult about our trees and give an estimate. We set a date and the crew arrived right on time. They did an excellent job -- thorough, careful. The trees look great. We have used this service in the past and would use them again in the future. They are a little more expensive than some tree services, but they have knowledgeable staff (arborists) and do a first-rate job. They are worth the cost.

We have had scheduling problems with them in the past. Since May we've been trying to schedule an appointment for them to come out and look at our distressed tree but have had no luck.

I came back from vacation to a backyard full of fallen limbs from my loquat tree. They were able to come out the next day for an estimate. Very professional and informative, right away reassured me that the tree was healthy but just had been overloaded with fruit and needed to be trimmed and shaped. Also provided insight as to necessary work for other overgrown trees in the backyard and a front-yard shrub. They did the work the next day. Everything looks great. Very pleased.

These trees were suffering from several years of neglect and we needed a service that could rescue them. The estimate was probably higher than what some other firms would charge, but I was willing to pay for the professionalism. There was a sixteen day lag between they day I okayed the estimate and the day I got called back, although to be fair six of those days were rain days and it probably messed with their scheduling. Still, a call back sooner would have been appreciated. Other than that, the work was superb, the rescued trees (persimmon, chestnut, jacaranda, orange) look great. A rogue fig growing in a very narrow alley between garages got cut down and a vastly overgrown Mexican sage got a buzzcut. The large crew of workers who arrived were polite and quiet and got the job done fast. Clean up was well done, especially the patio area. I'm glad I had the patience to wait for the callback.

I'm sort of confused, actually. Paul had worked on my home two times before. Both times I was extremely satisfied, so I called him to provide an estimate on my biggest job yet - the removal of five palm trees and some birds of paradise. He was supposed to come by two weeks ago. By the time he was an hour and a half late, I had to cancel. I rescheduled for today, January 18th. Given the rain, I called in the morning to see if we were still on for 9:00 a.m. His office said that Paul usually did not come out in the rain, but would be there by 10, an hour after our original appointment. I said okay. By 11, he still wasn't here. I called the office to ask why he was an hour late (two hours if you count the original appointment) and they told me he wasn't an hour late, because he was "five minutes away." Needless to say, I was sort of annoyed. I expect something like this from a cable guy, or another type of repairman, but at least they give you a window. In fact, if Tree King had given me a window on the time (let's say between 10 and 12) I may have been less annoyed. Bottom line is that it didn't inspire confidence for the real job.

I called to arrange for an appointment with Tree King's estimator. Stephanie took the call and set the appointment. She was courteous, friendly, and efficient. Jonathan arrived at the appointed time, on the dot. He was efficient and thorough. Stephanie called me to arrange an appointment to have the work done. As before, she was courteous, friendly, and efficient. The time was set, and on the scheduled day, the crew arrived on time. (Actually, they may have arrived a bit early.) Before the crew began their work, job foreman Mario and I walked the property to review what was to be done. The crew worked well together; everyone was busy the entire time. The work was completed quickly and professionally. The clean-up was thorough. I first employed Tree King in 1986 at my last home and have used them nearly every other year since then. At my current home, Tree King keeps my 78 year old jacaranda looking like a showpiece (especially when it is bloom) and my camphor tree looking beautiful, too. When called on to do so, they keep my collection of palms looking their very best.

Great job. The trees look great.

I wanted to give a birthday gift to a very dear friend who helped me design, decorate and paint my home. Paul Pondella and his talented crew transformed her lifeless back yard into a masterpiece. The most pitiful looking trees are now healthy and provide just enough shade to keep the house cool and the garden plush. The plants and flowers were placed and designed to bloom and last. Watching him plan and plant is simply genius in action. The best thing. She was in awe and so happy. At her surprise and mine, Paul and his crew were happy to be making her so happy. I've never seen anything like it.

Got an estimate that was lower from another company but we found the knowledge and interest in the health of the trees and the total service was a better bet with this outfit. They came on time, did solid work and the team leader was nice enough to come by a day or 2 later to make sure that my wife and I were happy with the work. We are considering using them for our yearly tree maintenance and upkeep. The only downside is that they were a little rough on the roots and lower trunk of one of the trees that had some ivy overgrowth, and we do wish that our original contact that gave us the estimate and sold us on their company had come by the day of the job to make sure the team they sent was doing everything to his specifications, but other than that this company gets good marks overall.

The trees were trimmed beautifully and the workers cleaned up the area very well. The work was done to the estimate, which was $100 less than another highly recommended company. These guys really know their trees, and Mr. Uranga gave me some useful advise about tree care and upkeep.

I have to say I didn't get any other estimates so I don't know whether it's a fair price or not. The service was super pro, very informed and knowledgeable and very well and quickly done.

Very professional and in line with the other estimates I received from other tree trimming services. Tonya, who works in their office, is polite and friendly. She called to confirm my appointment and to reschedule due to the rain. No surprises here - these people are professionals and as the saying goes 'you get what you pay for...' Highly recommended, and I'm picky.

THEY COME OUT AND DO FULL SERVICE YARD MAINTENANCE. THEY ARE TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO. THEY TREAT MY YARD LIKE IT WAS THEIR OWN.

I HAD A TREE FALL ON THE ROOF OF MY HOUSE. I NORMALLY USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY, BUT I WAS REFERRED TO THEM. THEY CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY AT A MUCH LOWER PRICE I WAS ESTIMATED BY THE OTHER COMPANY. THEY DID EXTREMELY GOOD WORK AND THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND DID A LOT OF EXTRA WORK SUCH AS REMOVING SOME BEES OUT OF THE TREE FOR FREE.

HE KNOCKED DOWN THESE TWO BIG TREES AND WAS IN AND OUT WITHIN THREE HOURS. I WAS AMAZED. HE IS VERY DEPENDABLE. I RECOMMENDED HIM TO SOME OTHER PEOPLE. THEY WERE PLEASED AS WELL.

THE WORKERS JUST DID THEIR JOBS AS THEY SHOULD. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE DEVICE THEY WERE USING. THEY REMOVED THE TREE AND EVEN CLEANED UP THE MESS.
