I had a 7' tall kennel set up but due to the unevenness of the lawn, they had to figure out a way to adjust the normal installation. A lock was installed on the kennel. The patio door was not closing without slamming and it was temporarily fixed until I can get a whole new lock. One of the dog doors, a wall unit, was not functioning properly due to the manufacturer not including the correct screws for that installation. Arnold was able to use some toggle bolts and get the frame secured. I also had a dryer hose that needed to be replaced so he moved the dryer out and put that on for me.
They pay attention to the details and make sure it is done right. I am very happy (and my dogs too) with the kennel and all the work done in approx. 5 hrs.

Advice on future repairs
"Thank you very much for your very positive review. However, we at Swiss Handyman do not show having ever done any work for you and we would like the correct handyman company to get this positive credit for their work. Therefore, if you would be so kind and clarify this with Angie's List directly since we do not have any access to change the reviews."
When we have additional projects, they are our guys!
"Dear Customer, We understand the frustration of these jobs. They look simple enough on paper. We tackled the first job of hooking up the new TV to Direct TV. Because you had insisted that the TV outlet had worked before, it took quite some time of troubleshooting to no result, and that’s when we suggested to contact Direct TV. Then we found out that the reportedly working TV outlet was actually not connected to Direct TV and needed an additional Direct TV box to connect to the new TV. Yes, there was a lot of talk back and forth on this job. And the implication of “all the materials were there” is not quite correct and added significant time to the “simple task of connecting up a new TV to Direct TV”. The other very time consuming and frustrating task was to install a surround sound system for the TV. Yes, the parts were there, but they were not compatible with the existing wiring. It took some time, and a lot of talk, to sort this out with the husband who was not at home at the time, and finally got sorted out after he did come home. Yes, time consuming and a lot of job related talk. As to the 3 ft baseboards, again this sounds so simple and a seemingly very fast job. Omitted is the fact that the baseboard had been installed faulty in the first place and ended at an intricate fireplace mantle that needed precision custom cutting. To properly repair the 3 ft piece of baseboard we actually replaced a full 15 ft and an additional 5 ft piece that met in a corner of the room, since they would not have matched up otherwise. All the dry fitting was done by us including the correction of the faulty baseboard installation. As a note, any time we do talk with customers on non-job related topics we do NOT charge for the time (of course). Sincerely, Arnold Huber, Swiss Handyman"
Also with the other job we were disappointed as well because he splintered our vintage redwood. Had he drilled from the outside to inside this could have been avoided.
Arnold charged $95 an hour and he works slow. After talking with some neighbors, this seems like an exorbitant fee, considering the lack of quality.
I found another handyman and was happy until he retired recently (sob...). Looking for a handyman I thought I would give Arnold's outsourced handyman another shot and emailed via Angie's List. They took a while to get back to me telling me to email them directly to get rates. Weird, but okay ... emailed and never heard back. So not much has changed.
"We’re sorry to hear that you had trouble with a handyman company in 2014. That company was not Swiss Handyman. We never did any drywall repairs for you and the only time we have worked for you was in February of 2012. It appears that you have us mixed up with someone else. You recently emailed us through Angie’s List on 17 January 2015 and we responded within 24 hours also through Angie’s List on 18 January. We asked you to send your email to us directly (it is easier to send email through our contact management program) so we could send you our rates as a refresher. We did not hear back from you until 23 January when you left us a voice message and said you sent several emails through Angie’s List (we only received the one mentioned) but had not gotten a response. We responded to your voice message that same day but did not hear back from you. We know it’s hard when you have someone you like to work with and then they retire and we sincerely hope that you find someone who you will feel the same about again."
