Stanley Pest Control (LA Office)

The price great compared to the4 two biggest companies, Orkin and Terminx. It was $1500 less since they offered localized termite fumigation instead of tenting the entire house, which was terrific for my 80 year old mom. She didn't have to leave her house for three days. The crew lead by Moses was terrific. They came early, were professional, polite, hard workers, and went above and beyond to repair and replace all of the damaged wood in her home. When they could not find wood ,to match the window sills in her older home at Home Depot, Moses went out of his way to go to a lumber yard to get a perfect match and came back the next morning to install them so they would match the rest of the house.

Just moved into new house to discover our dogs picked up fleas in the yard. Company was running a promotion on their website for interior/exterior flea treatment for $135 for a house up to 2,500 sq ft., and since our regular exterminator was booked and couldn’t come on our time schedule, I called Stanley. Internet search suggests the average price for interior/exterior flea treatment is between $50 - $150. Sounded reasonable to me, and was in line with my regular service provider. They sent out a technician the next day named Carlos. He charged my partner $485. Our house is 988 sq. ft. and sits on a postage stamp size property with a deck and no lawn. My partner having no idea that he was being charged an outrageous price and thought I had agreed, gave Carlos his credit card information. Carlos went on to explain that we likely had possums and that he was happy to lease us a trap for $150 and then charge us additional monies to come out and take away the animals. I was flabbergasted at this price! Furthermore, I found that Carlos had sprayed insecticide all around our bed, including on the edge of the linens and on the top of underbid storage bins, requiring me to clean, launder and mop our floors multiple times. When I called the company, they transferred me to Carlos, who said he didn't know what prices/promotions the company was offering because that was done by the corporate office. When I asked him why he had sprayed around our bed, he gaslit me and said, "I didn't. I only sprayed baseboards." I asked him to adjust the fee, and he said no. I asked to speak with the owner. He came back on the line and told me his manager was busy and he'd call me back. I told him I preferred to wait. A man named Aubrey eventually came on the line. I explained what had happened. His exact words to me were, "You should have done your homework. If that's what Carlos charged you, that's the price. Then he offered me the suggestion to shop around next time." UPDATE #1: I want to update this post. Tim, a Director, from Stanley phone me this afternoon to let me know that he wanted me to be a happy customer. After, I explained that his service provider sprayed all around my bed, and the items underneath my bed, charged me an outrageous price and that they were running a promotion for servicing a house/yard much larger than mine for $135, he offered me service for 1/2 of what I was charged ($485), but would not honor the promotion. He told me I should have printed out the coupon. I think Tim felt good about his offer. I obviously didn't, and remain an unhappy customer. I told Tim if my employees treated people and provided service the way Stanley had done, I would have given my services away for free and done anything necessary to correct the problem. UPDATE #2: Another update...Tim just called back and said he felt bad about the way I had been treated all day and wanted to honor the promotion price for $135. It's truly kind of Tim to reconsider. I hope Stanley invests in training its staff on customer service and being good citizens. I worry what we are coming to as a people.

Our technician has been very prompt and responsive, especially to special requests and urgent situations. Great service.

Excellent. Always on time. Always courteous. Caesar is and has been my technician for years, have had the service since the 70s. Outstanding company. Office is always polite and immediately responsive. If you call there is no long wait for a return call. No praise to high for the entire organization.

I was pleased with the service. They were knowledgeable and professional.

The spraying was only effective for spiders. It was not at all effective for ants or fleas. I have seen both ants and fleas everyday since the service including the day of service. I would think it would have been effective for at least a week or so.

They are back, so it  didn't turn out so well.

Fine, work done on time

I use them for termites. I had an annual check. I have a contract with them. They were more thorough the first time they came. The second guy that came for a checkup was okay but not as thorough.

They come every month. The person that comes out his name his Ceasar, he does a really good job and checks the traps. He is the one that always comes out.

Carl was great, decided to upgrade into a yearly plan to keep pest at bay outside. Especially fleas during warmer months given the stray cats that wander thru the neighborhood...

Responded quickly and did the job well, including deodorizing the affected area.

They were more expensive. When I called them to give me more detailed info and they didn’t call back. I thought they were professional.

the treatments seem to work.

Very well. By evening, no more ants. The tech explained differences regarding non-toxic and the more toxic products. I went with the no odor less toxic. Lots of nests in crawl space under house so he sprayed down a borate powder. They guarantee this one-shot deal for only a month and I think their price a bit two high. But so far there are no ants streaming from light switches, tiny openings in floor boards or the bath tub overflow drain.

The fleas remains in my backyard.

Up here we have black widows. I wouldn't use them again because Home Depot has a pest control spray that I can do. It's just easier for me to do it.

The service both times was prompt and thorough...and definitely took care problems!

I purchased a coupon for the service and it was honored. It went well. The technician sprayed the perimeter of the house. Inside, a strong pest bait was placed in cabinets, behind the refrigerator, and in the bathroom. He couldn't spray inside the house because the tenant did not remove food, dishes, and other items. I have two addresses on file with Angies List. The company had already scheduled the South Bay office to complete the service thinking it was in that area. I called to remind them of the address in South Los Angeles. There was no problem sending the technician out of his area. This is my "go to" pest control company. The technicians are always clean, personable, and professional.
