Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
I used his services twice. He did a complete a set of bathroom remodel for me and then he did a kitchen and floor remodel for me. I was thrilled with everything he did, he did the same level of work on the kitchen and floor remodel that he had done on the bathroom, it was very good. I was very happy with him and he did a great job. The bathroom remodeling was around $18000 and the kitchen and floor remodel was probably about $18000 to $19000. I would use them again if I am still in L.A.

Shandar, the owner, is really great to work with. Not only was his quote reasonable, but he showed excellent workmanship and an eye for detail throughout the two-week, two-bathroom remodeling project that he did for me and my husband.
This is the first major remodeling work we have ever had done, and it was really nice to work with someone who listened to what we wanted, but also offered suggestions along the way. For example, we wanted travertine tile installed in both bathrooms (floor and shower/bath walls). I wanted new baseboard as well, and I was thinking of getting new wooden baseboard.
Shandar mentioned the possibility of making a 3- to 4-inch baseboard from the same travertine as the floor, and I loved the idea Now that it is in place, it really adds to the beauty of the whole installation. Shandar also had his crew plane the top edge to a 45-degree angle, so there is no raw stone edge showing at the top of the baseboard. They used the same technique on the tiles at the edge of the bath and shower for a very smooth blending into the wall.
Maybe this is standard stuff, but I never would have thought to ask for a travertine baseboard, nor would I have thought about the edges. It is one of many examples I can think of where Shandar and his crew showed a real eye for the details. When I look at the final effect, I only get happier with the workmanship.
Also, when Shandar installed the vanities, both of them came with no plumbing cut-outs in the back (so they could be cut to fit). He cut the tiniest holes possible (think like 2 1/2 or 3 inch diameter) and came up with a way to install the vanity with the plumbing properly done AND with no wall showing at the back when you open the cabinets. Even at the store where I bought the vanities, there were fairly large square holes cut into the floor display models.
In any case, I will now have much higher expectations in the future, as Shandar has definitely raised the bar. In addition, he is polite, easy to work with, and I always felt that he was dealing with me fairly and honestly. He and his crew also kept things reasonably tidy, covering their pathways with plastic (so I did not end up with ground-in tile dust in my carpet), sweeping up after themselves, and storing their equipment neatly at the end of the work day.
On the days when they were sanding drywall, I did end up with some white dust in those areas that were not covered with plastic. However, I do not view this as a negative, as this was a REMODELING project, and I think dust is part of the deal, isn't it? In any case, the guys did a nice job of keeping it to a minimum.
On the whole, I am happy with the results and feel that the experience was very positive overall. In fact, I plan to have Shandar come back and do some work in the kitchen in the near future.
