I have had good service from Ron?s in the past (hence two stars) and so called them when our kitchen faucet started leaking. The plumber we?ve had before (forgotten his name) came out and fixed the problem; in doing so, however, the hot water line got clogged and greatly reduced the water pressure. He fixed this problem as well.
A day or so later, the hot water lost its pressure again. I called Ron?s and asked for our previous plumber, since he was already familiar with the problem. A different pair of techs arrived, and as I was trying to explain the problem, the lead tech very seriously said ?well, hot water always has a lower pressure in any faucet, that?s just a regular thing.? Without even once yet looking at my faucet.
I looked him dead in the eye and said, ?Um. No.? I knew then that this was going to be a different experience.
So the pair start to mess with my faucet, trying to figure out the problem, and after about 20 minutes they have fixed it. The hot water pressure is strong and fine. They explain to me that there was no blockage, that they had to jury-rig some of the lines to get it to work right, but they can?t go any further with it because then they?d have to take apart the faucet. That seemed pretty questionable to me, but the pressure was working so I was fine with it. They left. When I turned on the water about 30 minutes later, the pressure was *worse*, barely a trickle.
I immediately called Ron?s back, and asked to schedule the first tech I had worked with, who understood the problem. I had a couple of calls with the scheduler (who was helpful and professional throughout) and finally set a date and time. An hour before that appointment, I received a call from the *owner* (Ron himself?), who told me - even though he has never seen my faucet himself - that the problem was with my faucet and that they would have to take it apart to fix it and they won?t do that and the only solution was to get a new faucet so we?re not going to come back out to fix your problem. Needless to say, I was stunned.
I have never heard of a plumber who can?t take apart a faucet - their first tech had no problem with it. So - back to Angie?s List and I found Ford?s Plumbing (please see my review.) Their tech, Riley, came out the next day and not only gave me excellent, professional customer service during the free estimate, he also told me exactly what was wrong (a blockage in the faucet cartridge) and how to open the faucet and fix the problem myself (which I did). I have found my new plumber, and that never would have happened if Ron?s A-1 Plumbing had carried through with their responsibility and fixed my faucet. So thanks, Ron?s A-1 Plumbing! I?ve got a great new plumber!
Also, they ask me previously if I wanted to use their electrician for the outside plug and I advised yes and it would be $150
now the day of the job its $200 but they negotiated it down to $180
This should have all been worked out on their end as i indicated that I needed their electrician and then he didnt show up until 3pm and I was still without hot water - he showed up and hooked up all the electric etc
I wished the company would have stuck around to oversee the entire job and the make sure everything was perfect
Overall I am happy with the job
Everyone was very professional and respectful. Would definitely recommend them for speed of service, pricing and professional job.
It took 3 city inspections to finally pass. My poor aunt was frantic.
correctly
The overall price was HALF of what another local plumber was trying to charge me (and who I turned away)
The scheduling was a breeze (they were willing to do it next day if I wanted to).
The team arrived on time around 8 a.m. (with Ron there himself to explain everything to his crew). They were very organized and cleaned up everything when they were finished. They were super fast (done by about 1 p.m.), and I LOVE my new tankless hot water heater!!!
I will use Ron's A1 Plumbing in the future for my plumbing needs.
