Chair was picked up - repaired - and returned within a week. Work was fantastic. I’m sitting in my chair as I type!

Rene came to my home and picked up the cushions to be reupholstered, I changed my mind about the fabric after he had left, and he was so accommodating. Today he dropped off the finished cushions, and the result was AMAZING! Highly recommend Rene.

Rene is a small operation. But very personal attention. The chair needed total reupholstery and is an odd shape. It also needed new foam. They picked up the chair 2 months ago, and it just got finished. Took longer than expected but the job is excellent. Almost as good as new!

Angie’s gave a certificate and coupon for the service -when I spoke with studio they replied that Rene was out of the country for a month they don’t do this work

Great, Rene texted right away in the weekend, was reasonably priced and came on time in 2 days and got it done.

they re-upholstered our 6 dining chairs and refinished our solid wood table. everything looks like new. pricey, but they included pick up and delivery of the items. they did a professional job in a reasonable time frame (took about 9 days from pick up to return). i recommend rene and his crew and will contract with him again when the time comes.

When Rene arrived he started to place the furniture in my house. It looked strange and I realized that if was the wrong fabric. Rene tried to say it was my fault. He wanted to charge the full price. I said and proved it was his mistake. I still ended paying for half of the correct fabric. What was I to do? He had my furniture. I should have paid nothing for his mistake which I proved be showing him the contract. The workamanship was fine. I just shouldn't have paid an extra dime.

The business was non-responsive. I called three times and left voice messages. I emailed once. I had to reach out to Angies staff to have them reach out to the company. I received a emailed stating that they had received the email and would be calling me on the following Monday. On the following Tuesday, after no call, I called and left a message. I was called back within 30 minutes and was directed to send 3 pictures of my chest upon receiving them I would be contacted. I received a text stating that the restoration would be $1200 and did I wish to proceed. I promptly responded no. This is the shabbiest treatment I have ever experienced when using an Angies List cfartsman.

He is a craftsman, and will dedicate himself to realizing your vision. Our couch and pillows have never been so beautiful and comfortable. Do not hesitate to call him. I know we won't!

When the work was done he wanted another four hundred dollars to replace a pad and recover the pillow....total scam here.... This was laughable....second time an Angies list referral tried to get me to refinance my home to do work agreed to on one of your teaser ads......Not sure the benefit to any consumers here....only to the scammers who get on your deal list.......

Rene did a great job. The dining table suffered a serious injury when I fell on it from a ladder. I was not hurt, but the table collapsed. Rene repaired the broken structure and legs. It looks again just like it did 60 years ago.

Not well. We had set up an appointment that he never showed up for (didn't call either), then upon contacting him again I asked him what happened last time and he never responded despite my asking twice. I have the text message thread where he just blew me off and didn't respond. This is the main reason for using angles list instead of craigslist, but in this case it didn't work.

It went very well. The divan looks beautiful in its off-shade, weathered green Spanish leather. We are very pleased with Mr. Guzman's work and recommend him highly to all.

Fair. Did not come when he said he would, didn't call. Had to make another appt. and he was late for that one.

He tightened all connections and replaced missing piece of wood. He did an excellent job. He picked up the stools and delivered them as agreed. Although he did a great job, I felt $120.00 a stool was a little exorbitant. Price was more than stools cost, but I just wanted to get them repaired.

Set up appointment for a Saturday morning a week later; no one showed up, and I got no response to my initial voicemail attempt to re-set it, no response to my text message asking for an update, and then got a voicemail box full message when I attempted contact three days later. It's almost like someone died?

The offer was Here's the Deal: The Real Deal: Restore your family heirlooms and get a break on the cost of the work with this classic offer! • $99 for $200 worth of furniture restoration, repair, or refinishing • Valid for all wooden furniture, staining, painting, decorative finishes, rebuilds, water damage repair, fire and smoke damage repair, joint re-gluing, veneers, furniture stripping, & reupholstering We first communicated by email, and I sent to Mr. Guzman two pictures of the table (from top & from side). He did not show for first appointment at 10am. I called him after 10:15 5/30, he told me something had come up. He did not say why he did not call to reschedule. We then rescheduled for 5/31 at 2PM. Details follow but Mr. Guzman basically said that the repair would cost $1,500. I told him I would not pay that. I asked what I would get for the coupon deal. He said nothing. I asked what I would get for the coupon deal & a few additional hundred dollars. He said nothing. He clearly did not fulfill the service contract which I purchased. It was an incredible insult that he would not even discuss it. He was incredibly unprofessional, and only interested in charging his price. When Mr. Guzman arrived, he looked at table (pictures of which he had received days before), and told me that the repair would require sanding, painting (what looked like inlay was only outline in a few places, as it was only veneer) and refinishing. He told me it would cost $1,500 for repair. I told him I would not pay $1,500. He repeatedly told me it would cost $1,500 & why, and I reiterated at least four times that I would not pay $1,500. I asked what I would get for the coupon value. No response. I then asked a couple of times what I would get for the coupon value and a few extra hundred dollars. No response. Our conversation ended when I pointed out that he was trying to sell me what he wanted, not what I wanted. He said that I could get a refund from Angie’s list and left. Mr. Guzman's performance is an insult to me as a client, and to Angie's list. I will now have to work on getting a refund.

I was very happy with the job and the work.

Excellent quality workmanship but I was surprised at how little a $200 value went. I purchased the $100 for a $200 value of refinishing, and tho he is a total pro and the arms of the chair look fantastic, I was surprised that the value didn't go very far as to refurbishing the exposed wood on the chair and basic cleaning of the vinyl. I was impressed by the arms when returned but it didn't look as tho the rest had been cleaned up at all and as to the vinyl. Very good work, but not in my price range for future projects.
