They did an excellent, professional job. The tub was moved without any damages to walls or stairs (and it was a rather tight stairway)Difinitely would call them again.

Here is a lengthy review... but I tend to think the details are what
makes things clear for people who are considering using a company's
services. In the case of moving, its a very tiring/emotional day so
seems ever more important.
Just used Popeye for a move. This is the 4th or 5th time I have used
pro movers both East and West coast. I have never had a real problem
uring a move- thankfully this time was no different - but I have seen a
mix of movers. This move was apartment -> house for 100 boxes and
furniture down flight of stairs and then into a home a mile away. Simple
move with us 100% packed.
I found Popeye from a friend who had recently used and was satisfied. In general that is all I am - satisfied.
Way
back they were quick to come over and give me an estimate for their
services so I thought great and booked them. Their pricing was
competitive although slightly higher than other area companies. But at
the time, I just did not have enough energy to keep with more movers so I
booked Popeye for 4 men, not 3, as suggested. They said not a problem -
4 it is - more/hour but will shave time. Given our desire to get set up
quickly, the time-save was important.
2 Days prior to the move spoke called to confirm everything and review
the estimate. I reminded them it needs updating from 3 to 4 men. Was
told yes, it will be 4 men. But then had very odd 10 minute
conversation when I said the estimate needs updating on the time and
rate to shift from 3 to 4 men. What should have been a very
straightforward conversation was quite frustrating with much dodging and
resistance. After 10 minutes, he relented in adjusting the estimate
accordingly and sent me a new estimate.
Day of - the movers right on time at 7 am. Great! Very exciting!
Strangely,
their foreman brought his dog that he let sit on top a box all move
watching things unfold. I am a dog lover and personally did not mind,
but this could be a real problem for folks who are allergic, apartment
forbids pets, or otherwise. Weird and had me wondering if he'd pee on
my boxes. Fortunately, he didn't, well, at least not before the
wardrobe box was unpacked and sitting outside my door.
In all my other professional moves, every box, item, etc that moves is
tagged, numbered, and recorded and reviewed upon move-in. Not here. No
labeling at all. Fortunately, I knew my box count and inventory well.
But I find this poor service and not standard for most pros.
About 1 1/2 hours into the move with no warning or discussion, the 4th
man was pulled onto another move. At this point my wife and I realized
the move was progressing ok and we'd be fine time-wise - although
seemingly would have been even quicker if he had not been shifted
off. But there was no discussion whatsoever. It just happened. Not
what we signed up for. I asked about it and was told "We're fine, it
will be ok." Not a practice I admire.
A number of my bookshelves' brackets had to be unscrewed from the
walls. They did that. Great! But they missed the next step ? bag them
and keep them with their original piece of furniture for the new home.
Nope, when they finished, I had to gather them myself.
They also opened a sliding door in a back room. Fine. Need fresh
air. It?s hot, you're working hard. I get it. I assumed they closed it.
Nope. When I returned later that day to get a few items I wanted to move
myself, I saw the door was still open! Silly me for not checking sooner
- I suppose I expected too much from them to close it.
Move-in - went well. Quick, efficient and relatively organized.
They were good about asking where each item should be located. They put
our furniture together as needed. Great! Went well.
Despite the loss of a 4th man they finished 1 hour earlier than expected. Great!!
Overall ? Popeye is fine. Time-wise very efficient. Huge plus.
People-side, service-side, cleanup, etc -not great. A bit pricy and
questionable practice. Just glad had no real problems. If I had to move
again, I would choose another.

Since I wasn't going far and didn't have that many things, I wanted to go for the minimum 3 hour price. After listing everything that I wanted moved and details on both locations, I was informed this is doable.
I got a call the day before my move to verify my move. This was another guy and he informed me that 3 hours was not probable because where I live has halls/elevators that might slow the movers. But it was a bit late to look for another mover at this point.
The movers came an hour late after missing a two hour window. They moved fairly fast and covered everything. Move was good, but I was charged for 4 1/4 hours of work.
I didn't feel that they were dishonest but I don't think we got their A game with regard to estimation or punctuality.
(This review was not for The Small Delivery Co. I already requested to change to the right provider).

They were great, they gave me an estimate, and stuck with it. Nothing was broken, they were willing to do it last second on the 4th of July and they were just great and really nice guys.

The move went very well. Professional. Polite. Hustled.
The move took multiple stops, delivery and pick up on two 3rd floor apartments.
It was not an easy move. Well done

My girlfriend had used Popeye Moving before and had had a great experience with them, so we decided to use them again to move her into my house. They showed up around 2:00 in the afternoon and didn't finish until 11:00 at night. Mind you, the amount of stuff that we were moving was almost identical to the amount that they had moved for her before, and that previous job took between 4 and 5 hours (not 9). Along the way, they broke a large wooden mirror stand and my garage door, which, in all fairness, they did mange to fix (although the mirror stand took a few weeks). But fixing the garage door added at least 30 minutes to the total, for which they originally planned to charge us, until I pushed them to have that time deducted.
It's somewhat mystifying why the job took so long. When they got there, they insisted that a bunch of items be re-boxed and re-taped even though the old boxes had been sitting untouched in my girlfriend's garage since the last time THEY moved them. That added a bunch of time. Also, I suspect that since they started in the afternoon and had already done another job in the morning that that made them slower and more sluggish. None of the crew seemed to have much hustle, as we would ordinarily have expected.
I should point out that I called them a few days later to discuss my dissatisfaction. After much deliberation, they offered us a $150 refund, bringing the total closer to $850. I felt like it shouldn't have cost more than $500 or $600 to begin with, based on what they charged my girlfriend to move the same stuff a year or so earlier, but it was nice that they made at least a small token gesture.
Since my girlfriend had had a good experience with them before, maybe this time was something of an anomaly, but I can only report on the experience that I had, and it wasn't very good.

I thought they did a great job and I would definitely recommend them. They set off right on time. They did not damage anything that we know of. In general, they did a great job. They were nice and spoke english. I would definitely use their services again in the future.

The movers were great, prompt, friendly, efficient. We would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone.
Moved two locations, travel time and unload into the new location all under what they estimated.
We were thrilled with the service.

Overall, it was okay. There were three guys that come and the two hispanic employee's were excellent but one guy that was there made me feel under pressure and I felt he did not handle a couple pieces properly. They were punctual and arrived on time. They did not honor the Angie's List discount that I provided them with, which was one of the reasons I chose the company.

The two movers were on time. They evaluated the furniture to be loaded. Everything was moved in without a hitch. As the movers were about to leave my daughter and wife decided to relocate some of the furniture in the Condo. The movers were patient and helpful with our additiions requests. I would use them again.

They had to pick up my mom's clothes, furniture and extra things from Torrance (mobile home) to Pasadena (senior building). Can you say fast? Though my mom did not have much to move, it still needed a moving company to do it. I'll give them 10 out of 10 because the move took less than hour, fast and did not have an attitude. Ask for Jose!

They had to make a couple of trips since I had too much stuff. I felt that the price was reasonable. They charge around the same thing like the other moving companies. I think all the movers basically charge the same price and so I felt that their price was comparable with everybody else. They basically charge per hour. They did a fine job and didn?t break anything. The quality of their work was fine. One of the guys threw down a box and it had some fragile stuff in it. He was a little sarcastic. I would use their services in the future too.

One of the movers had a bit of an attitude that I did not feel was necessary. The other mover was on his cell phone quite often trying to get a ride home or trying to make plans for the afternoon. I moved less than a mile away from the first location and it still took four hours and I had furniture for a one bedroom apartment. They also should have loaded the wardrobe boxes last so that when I got to the new location, I could unpack those first. I sat around waiting for the movers to give me my wardrobe boxes and other items that I could unpack.I would not use them again.

They were awesome. They will tell you how you should handle your stuff so that it will not break and you should listen to them. They really knew what they were doing, but they underestimated the time that it would take. It was close to double the price because they charge per time. They really know what they are doing and they really saved me a lot in the end because I was storing a bunch of stuff and they really did a great job.

The owner is extremely meticulous and conscientious. He always has a great crew. He is dependable and professional in every aspect of the move and always a pleasure to work with. He is experienced in working with celebrities and high maintenance individuals. He keeps is crew working quickly and they truly handle everything with great care. I wouldn't consider using another company for large scale moves.
