The gas leaks were discovered by the gas company when they attempted to restore service following fumigation of the building for termites.  The gas company detected a low flow on the meter with all of the appliance valves closed.  They required me to have the piping tested and repaired before they could turn the gas service back on.  I called a different plumbing company, one that was available on short notice on a Friday afternoon, to test the system.  But when they disconnected the gas meter and tried to pressurize the line to my condo with air, the system would not hold pressure at all.  They suspected a large leak where the pipe passed through the concrete slab to the garage and provided a rough estimate of $2,500 to $5,000 to repair it.  I decided to stop for the afternoon and get a second opinion.  I contacted the property management firm that works with the building's HOA, and they recommended Padilla Plumbing.  Juan Padilla came out on Saturday morning and thoroughly tested the system.  He confirmed that there was a large leak between the gas meter and the garage, and also located three small leaks near applicance valves.  We had to cut into the existing pipe to perform the tests.  He was thorough and professonal.  I had confidence in his work and recommendations.  He provided an estimate of four or five hours to repair the damaged pipes, depending on how difficult it turned out to be to remove the old pipe from the concrete slab.  He came out with two other plumbers on Monday morning, and got them started.  They worked hard and carefully to remove the damaged pipe, which was badly corroded externally where it passed through the concrete slab.  They installed the new pipe and repaired the minor leaks near the appliances.  It took about six hours of steady, hard work to finish the job.  They pressure tested the complete system with the new piping and valves installed.  They finished by 4 pm the same day and the gas company came out that evening to restore service.  Padilla Plumbing did a great job in indentifying and correcting the problem at a very fair price.  I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.
