MONICA RODRIGUEZ

I found Monica Rodriguez on a website. At first she is very friendly and comes across with very professional intent. She is big on advertising she is not "chatty" while she works - which is important to me since I do design work while my cleaner is working. However, she chatted so much I couldn't get any work done, or she was constantly on her phone discussing other cleaning jobs. She spent at least 1/3 of her time (if not half) NOT cleaning ... but hovering at my computer, having me help her with a website listings and MP3 downloads for her iPod. She rarely showed up on time .. often an hour or MORE late ... and really had no excuse. She had a live-in situation with someone else (a writer/director) who she disrespectfully kept referring to as her husband. Two weeks before Christmas she told me she wanted an iPod (and she'd only been cleaning for me for 3 months!!!) Despite buying her tunes for her iPod, she got cranky if I didn't also provide a tip. So you're probably wondering why I didn't boot her sooner? She was struggling to get on her feet. I kept believing if I was patient she'd improve. But she is someone who really takes advantage of kindnesses (even calling me at 1 a.m to pay a hotel bill so she didn't get evicted in the morning). In the end, she was extremely late coming over one morning. She even told me she was on her way at one point but didn't show up for 2 hours (and I only lived 30 minutes away). Apparently my calls (out of concern) she took as pressuring and assumed I would get angry with her so her solution was to leave me a voice-mail (filled will a lot of maliciousness) but left it on my office voice-mail - which I only read on Monday. She had shown up on Saturday and cleaned - cheerfully ... even had me buy her some more tunes. All after having left that message. When I text her on Monday saying I'd like to discuss her message - she wrote back telling me she wouldn't work for me anymore. A total nut!
