He wasn't available and he sent someone who was a nightmare and overcharged. He actually paid the cost. What I like is that he explains stuff, even how we have been ripped off in the past and why.  Since I have gone with him it hasn't been so expensive. We have a blocked sewer line and this summer we are going to have him line it for twenty eight hundred dollars, but it is a five thousand dollar job. I discovered him when he was working on a neighbours sewer line to the street and I asked him a couple questions and it's the first time I have ever heard someone explain something that I am wondering about, which is, In Culver City, some of the sewer lines don't go directly to the street, they form a 'Y' with the neighbour. What he did is he videoed it and showed me why this was a slight problem and also the solution. We also have an over flow valve and  he show me that it was put in the wrong place, with the wrong kind of place and why. I wondered why it wasn't working so that was eight hundred dollars blown. He said it's a two way valve and if someone hits it wrong it's going to go into the house and break your neighbour's toilet. We were getting tampons and diapers in the sewer line. My old plumber, who I think was ripping me off, would charge ninety dollars to do 'roto' router plus three hundred dollars to do a video and he would not give me a copy. This guy did everything for four hundred dollars and gave me a copy. From what I saw it's like he almost did the router part free. When we have the money this summer, we are going to do the sewer lining and then we will never see him again, sadly. One guy was saying that we needed to have the sewer line plumbed three times a year, but he said no, if you do something: and he used a different cutter. Its now once a year and it's free.

Midnite Rooter showed how the work had been done improperly in the past and even more wonderful, showed that a new $20,000+ sewer line was unnecessary. Raul spent almost three hours on the job. He was patient and methodical. We have had no problem since. Previously we needed work every three months.
Raul is very knowledgeable about plumbing and as an added bonus he fixed a defective faucet in the bathtub for free.

I neglected to adhere to the recommended cleaning every 6 months when I bought the house 2.5 years ago. The roots were so bad, and long and thick that they had to make a custom rooter blade AND hire a special very powerful hydro jet (the regular one wasn't strong enough) It took three days to clear the line, but they never gave up and the lead guy is very skilled. I had been told 2 months prior by another company (panicked during flooding in my house during a storm and forgot to use Angie's List- never again), that the line was broken and that the street had to be torn up to replace it at an estimated cost of $30,000 to $50,000. Much longer story than I have space for here, but the point is is that I am very leary of this profession and Midnite Rooter was responsive, skilled and honest.

The work was completed in with a few scheduling snags, but not too bad. However, I had to call them back twice because my sewer line was still not functioning (first the toilet then the kitchen sink). They came and fixed at no additional charge, but it is still a hassle. Now it is June 2010 and my bathtub is not draining properly. The problem is probably not related to the sewer pipe they replaced but I had the replacement work to avoid these problems so I am still not too happy. I am undecided as to whether to call them out to fix this problem or get someone else.

Our bathtub drain was blocked so that we could not drain it. We called several drain service companies who tried with no success. One company recommended removing the pipe and made up an estimate of $2700.00. Another company recommended using water blasters and cameras and were trying to sell us on really big and unnecessary projects. When we called Midnite Rooter everything changed. They were clear and concise about what they were going to do, they came exactly time, totally professional and focused, and cleared the drain just as they said they could, and then charged exactly what they estimated - less than any of the other drain techs that came by. And there were no sales pitches or dire warnings or theatrics. Everything is "excellent" about this organization. Excellent, excellent, excellent.

Two people came to work and they were very courteous. They came on time and were very neat. They did not leave a mess and explained everything to me. They even let me look at video & gave me a DVD that shows how the sewer line was before and after the hydro-jet flush. The only complaint I have is that the woman on the phone quoted a lesser price but they asked for more. Then I spoke with her again and paid the price that she quoted initially. I will not hold this against them though.

Calls to their office were brief and informative. I was referred to Midnite Rooter by another AngiesLIst company. Midnite Rooter visited the property to see what was needed for repairs. An appointment was made for work with a one page detailed estimate. On the work date, the crew showed up right on time. I was expecting one or two people, instead four guys showed up. Their large rooter machine and the hydro-jet machine looked well maintained and ran flawlessly. The pipe repair went well, replacing one more section than anticipated, but they had the materials ready. The four worked well as a team, the whole big project was done in less than three hours. The building exterior drains were completely cleared and the foreman explained in detail the work they did, walked me around the patios and garage pipes to show no leaks and explained how the drainage system worked. They cleaned up the work areas and went off to do another job. All the guys were nice and professional. I would certainly use this company again.

It was a fine experience and I really appreciated them. They were very efficient and friendly, and spent a lot of time explaining things. They actually used a scope and laid out what was needed to be done in the future. They gave us an estimate but I don’t recall if there was a service charge for what they did - they might have charged me because they did do a little bit of work with the camera. They gave us different options on what we could do, and the pluses and minuses of each of those options. They tried contacting me one time, and because they couldn’t get through to me for a bit, they called me later and got through. They would probably do the service if and when we decide to do it.

Raul came by to give us an estimate, and performed his own video view of the problem. He said he could dig a 4x4x8 deep trench about 1 foot from the sidewalk on our property, and solve the problem by removing the obstruction, without having to break up the cement, which other companies insisted had to be done. His supervisor Anthony arrived on time at 8 AM with 2 men who spent the entire day digging the hole. They had spread a huge canvas cloth on the lawn to shovel the dirt on. They were very quiet and efficient. They located the problem and pulled out a 6 foot long root ball, and installed a 6" abs cleanout. They shored up the hole at 5PM, and posted the City Inspector's Report The following day, 2 different crew members came and waited for the City Inspector to approve the work, after which they spent almost 4 hours backfilling the hole and tamping down the dirt so that it looked like before. Raul came by to help them complete the work. They did a super job and I'd highly recommend them.

Raul was extremely professional and considerate. He did a video of our sewer pipes and showed us exactly what the problem was. They carried out the work exactly when and how they said they would, taking care to minimize water use disruption to our two tenants. When they were done, he sent down a camera again and showed us the completed work. We had gotten another estimate and his price was a little lower and he was able to fix the problem without cutting up our garage floor (as the other company had wanted to do). Veronica, who answers the phone and scheduled our job was very friendly, efficient and courteous.
