Mel Pierce Camera & Repair

I purchased the Vacation Camera Cleaning and Checkup Special, from Angie's List for $35. I took in my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 zoom camera. I knew it had put spots on my pictures, so it clearly needed some cleaning. I told them about the spots. They accepted the camera, and a few days later called to say that they had done the usual level of cleaning for this Vacation Package, but the camera still couldn't take photos without spotting. They asked me to authorize an additional $80 to go inside the camera and do further cleaning and repairs. I agreed. They got rid of the spots, and the camera worked fine (took more than 1,000 good pictures) until I brought it from a 68-degree hotel room quickly outside because I wanted to photograph snow falling in Beijing in November 2015. I forgot to let the camera warm up, and it ceased to focus properly. Obviously, this wasn't their fault, so I am taking it back for possible repairs.

I decided to trade in the lens for a better one and was given a fair trade-in value. I would use them again in the future.

This camera place is where you want to go if you need any repairs for your camera, I take many photos of family, friends, nature, and other random things so its imperative that I keep my camera in good working condition.  The staff is very knowledgeable and can answer whatever questions I have for them.

My SLR is 10 years old. The last batch of pictures taken with my autofocus camera/lenses were predominantly out of focus despite great lighting and subject conditions. What to do? I found the coupon for vacation tune up at Mel Pearce camera. I brought in my camera and hoped for the best. That all my beloved camera needed was a tune up. Mel Pearce camera's store is packed with all sorts of camera gear and a little intimidating at first. But I made my way to Jim, the repairman in the back, who was professional and courteous and left my camera with him. A quick turn around time later, I was picking up my SLR and testing it out on very important yearly family pictures. What a difference! My camera performed beautifully after the tune-up. No problem with the autofocus anymore. Each and every picture was in focus and clear. Thumbs up to Mel Pearce Camera! Thank you.

They brilliantly diagnosed an unclean digital sensor and cleaned it perfectly and immediately in their store.

They do AP and UPI work. They have good service to the professionals. They are expensive.

They took care of me and didn't even charge me. They had to clean a couple things and then my camera worked great.
