Luis Mejia

i hired luis because my friend had used him in the past. he gave me the first quote of $2000. once i gave him a deposit of $900, the price went up to $2800. luis was to remove, replace and refinish my floors, keeping some of the original flooring and only replacing where need be. luis cut a live wire in my home, causing me to have to hire an electrician ($120) to repair my wiring (which i had just had re-done). next, he perforated a pipe and that caused flooding underneath my home (which he repaired). finally, when i looked in and saw the floors (since i couldn't walk on them yet), they looked beautiful and i was so happy i paid him. when i could walk on them, i realized they were bubbled and some areas where he replaced wood, he did not complete the sanding so the floors are raised (not flush). he promised he would come back and fix everything. i called him everyday for a month and he did not take my calls. also, i wanted to know what type of finish he used so i would know what type of cleaner to use on my floors. he never returned my calls, once he answered and said he was driving and would call me right back, he never did. i am so disappointed with his work and had to put a rug over one raised area, which can still be seen, even with a rug over it. he is horrible, really, so many problems. this is my first house and so i have made some mistakes, but everyday i have to look at my unlevel floors and be reminded that luis never followed through.
