Jennifer (and Amanda) called from 562-478-4050 to confirm an appointment for an estimate with Palatin Remodeling. When I said I had not contacted Palatin Remodeling, she said I called last week, the appointment was for 4pm today and I was welcome to check out their Better Business Bureau ratings and their contractor's license #810725. I looked up the number Jennifer had called from (562-478-4050) and it belongs to a company called Home Improvement Center. This company has several numbers, but none of them match the Palatin Remodeling phone number associated with license #810725. I called Palatin Remodeling using the numbers listed on PalatinRemodeling.com (888-586-2323) and the Contractors State License Board (818-262-0627) and spoke with the owner (Gil) and the office manager (Debra). They both said that neither Jennifer nor Amanda work for Palatin and they do not have any appointments with me. They were, understandably, upset that Home Improvement Center was using the Palatin name and license number to solicit business. I called Jennifer to confirm the company name and license number. She said she had worked for Gil at Palatin Construction for about 2 months and that the license number was indeed 810725. I confirmed that the appointment had been cancelled.
