Highway Masters Paving

Herminio Morales (I believe he's the owner), came to my house on the same day that I called. He looked at the area to be repaired and gave me a few options. He also made a recommendation based on his experience and I went with his recommendation. The repair crew came to my house within a few days. They were very nice, efficient and did a fabulous job! I would recommend Highway Masters Paving without hesitation.

The price and also all the positive reviews on Angie's list gave us confidence that the simple paint job would done correctly. But that was not the case. The job was full of miscommunication between Herminio and the guys who did the work. The quality of the work was horrible. The lines were not straight, full of splotches and overspray. When we brought this to the attention of the foreman, he admitted that the guys doing the job wanted to finish quickly. He assured me that the work from that point forward would be better. It was not. It got worse. When we requested that Herminio come and look at the work done, he sent the same foreman to "fix" the issue. We expressly said not to do anything until they talked to a member of the Board of Directors. But we arrived to find they had already painted gray boxes over the bad paint job and then painted new white lines (still not straight) over the old lines. This is EXACTLY why we wanted to hear what their "fix" would be, because we didn't want more paint and it looking like a hack job. Some of the spot numbers began to peel the day after the work was done. In the end, Herminio gave us a discount because we were not satisfied with the job. But we are stuck with a horrible paint job.

We were not happy with the work done. It was done quickly and poorly. We had them do the lines in our parking garage as well as the numbers. Many of the lines were not straight and the numbers started peeling up immediately. We asked if they were going to wash the area before painting, but they said they didn't need to. Then said the numbers came up because of oil on the surface. They did come out to "fix" the issues (which by that point - it is paint and hard to fix)... but in our mind they should not have been issues in the first place. They were satisfied with this work until we complained.

The working crew was here for two days. They were very organized and efficient as well as quiet and courteous . They made what seemed to me a terribly big job look simple and easy. The clean up was perfect. Yes, I would have them back. I was quoted a price and at the end was told to take money off because not that much cement was needed. Very honest people, which is a big plus>

Excellent work at a fair price... All the other Asphalt Paving companies quoted me a ridiculous price for this small job. I would hire this company again for sure!

Chris and his crew were professional, the work was completed on time, the job was done to my satisfaction, and the price was quite competitive. I would highly recommend using Highway Masters Paving to anyone who is in need of a top notch paving and asphalt company!

I was looking to fix a problem with a receding driveway approach and an associated ponding issue. I was unsure where to look or whom to trust to address and complete this problem. I saw Highway Masters' reviews and decided I would try to contact them, resolved that I would get minimal response [by bias from trying to get other projects completed here in LA} I have to say I was continually and pleasantly surprised throughout the entire course of my experience with Herminio. He was responsive [very, with in 5 minutes], cordial, honest [was realistic about what he could achieve and did not try to up sell me work that wasn't needed] and reliable [showed up on time, accurately communicated his estimated time of arrival and duration time of the project] He is a consummate professional. His crew was also as very professional. Rudy, the project manager, was punctual, communicative, very responsible, and coincidently, had an impressive breadth of knowledge and a great sense of humor. Additionally, Herminio returned a week later to check the condition of the work to be sure all was as it should be. He has also been a great resource for referrals for other projects. Can not say enough good things about these guys. They are masters of the seemingly lost art of professionalism and competent service.

Great. He was very responsive. Came right out to give an estimate, which ended up to be accurate. There were some unforeseen problems that they worked out on the same budget. Also, I had them come out to fix a couple of things after the job was done, which were quickly resolved. Had a great experience with Herminio Morales. Will use again.

Awesome value for the price. The driveway was in two days after they started and it looks superb.

We had been looking to replace our driveway for months and the old asphalt driveway was literally crumbling away. They came in and removed the old driveway, leveled out the ground, placed a rock underlayment and then a metal mesh base. The new driveway was about twice the width of the old driveway and took about 12 yards of concrete to fill in at about 4-6 inches in depth. Then they performed a saw cut on the surface to create a diamond pattern.

Totally updated the curb appeal of the house. One of our neighbors asked if we were moving (because it looked so nice).

We were having an issue with water getting into the garage during heavy rains.  Herminio came out and looked at the driveway to see how to resolve the issue.  Because the driveway has grading issues, it was difficult to come up with a sure-fire solution as we weren't ready financially to re-surface or re-seal the driveway.  As a stop-gap measure to get us through El Nino, Herminio suggested patching a low area and plugging the fence where water was coming through to re-direct the water's path to further down the driveway.  He didn't know if this would work but he thought it was worth a try.  And because he didn't know if it would work, he did it for no charge.  He said if it works, you can pay me; if not, we'll try to find another solution.
I have never found a businessman with such integrity and willingness to try to find a solution, especially at no charge.  Herminio said it was an easy thing for his men to do and he didn't feel right about charging me if he didn't know if it would work.  
I most definitely will hire Herminio to re-seal the driveway next year and I absolutely recommend him and his company.  Herminio is honest, a good person and cares more for truly helping people than charging them.  He is amazing!

This Provider was excellent.  He delivered the Service for the quoted price and showed up on time on the date he had promised to do the work.  This was a 1 day job and he completed the work in 1 day.  I would highly recommend him.

Highway Masters came to my home to give me a FREE estimate.  He was on time and very professional.  He gave me a GREAT PRICE and came back two days later to do the job.  The crew consisted of approximately 5 men and they moved like a machine in a manner showing they had worked together for many jobs.  The  job was cleaned, asphalt placed, compacted, and sealed.  4 1/2 hours later I had an absolutely beautiful driveway.  I could not be happier.  He will be back next week in a few weeks to see how things have settled,

I left a request for information and appointment on Mr. Morales voice mail. He returned the call within an hour and we made the appointment for him to come out and give me a bid on repairing and replacing my parking area and driveway at my residence.
Mr. Morales met me on the agreed date and time and took measurements for the area in question. He returned his bid for the repair and placement of the driveway the next day! His company was the fourth company that I had come out to bid on the project. Highway Masters Paving was not the cheapest but he was fair in his pricing and his detailed explanation of the job, his company and what was to be done was the most complete that I had received.
I awarded him the bid based on my interaction with Mr. Morales and his professionalism.
He set up the repair for 7:00am on a Saturday. At 7:00am on the dot he and his crew showed up to start the job. I have never seen a group of guys that were so impressive in their attention to detail and took as much pride in their work as Mr. Morales and his crew.
The job was completed within the time frame that they had advised and looked fantastic!
It looked so good that three of my neighbors have decided to have Highway Masters Paving do repairs and replacements of their driveways!
Not only would I hire them to do more work for me, but I have set them up on a yearly basis to come out and re-seal my driveway on an ongoing annual basis.

Very good work at a fair price.  Only slight problem was that they were scheduled to come in the morning and did not show up until 2 PM.
