Green Locksmith West Hollywood

I locked myself out of my apartment and my son called Green's Locksmith for service. We were quoted $45.00 for travel and $30-40 for service. The service person arrived on time and opened my door in 3 minutes, then handed me a bill for $120.00 I explained I was quoted a price for $80.00. I paid the money but believe this is an excellent example of bait and switch as when my son called to complain he was told the locksmith has the power to charge whatever he deems his service is worth. Will not use again for obvious reasons. Buyer beware.

My husband and I closed on a house the day before Thanksgiving. On the day after Thanksgiving, we were anxious to get the locks changed, so I looked up several locksmiths with good reputations, according to yelp (I didn't have Angie's list at the time), and called them for estimates. I settled on Green Locksmiths because even though they charged the highest service call fee ($39), they offered a range of prices for replacing locks ($19-45) instead of a flat charge per lock ($25-$39) as I was quoted by other companies. I explained that we had just moved in and needed to have locks changed, and the representative on the phone told me that it was "highly unlikely" that I would need the more expensive locks. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way. I wasn't home when the representative arrived, and my husband didn't know the numbers we were quoted, so he didn't know that when the representative charged was grossly overcharging us. Unfortunately, we can't put our hands on the receipt now, but the total charge for replacing two doorknobs and two deadbolts (and supplying us with 4 copies of the key) was $371. And the worst part is, the deadbolt in the front door didn't even close properly: my husband had to fix it. Now, 3 months later, the deadbolt on the door to the garage appears to also be misaligned. For almost $400 locks, I would have at least expected them to work and work well for a long time. I will definitely not be calling this company again.
