I finally called the store and spoke to the Magnolia Manager. He claimed that somehow my estimate had never been transferred to their store and that the estimator is not the person to speak to. How could I have possibly known this. The manager went on to say that this had NEVER happened before and agreed to take $500 off my estimate. We further discussed the estimate and went to place the order, which couldn't be installed for over 5 weeks. THEY WANTED FULL PAYMENT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. Somehow this couldn't be accomplished over the phone, so I had to trek back to the store.
MORE FUN... I got to the store and waited for about 20 minutes to speak to the manager again. He promised no more hiccups. We started the payment process and somehow my order wouldn't process. After 15 minutes, they tell me the entire order had to be re-entered with a new order number. AGAIN, THEY CLAIMED THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. This re-entering took another 40 minutes. Somehow, I think someone else wanted credit for the sale. I paid and left the store. I had to make a trip to Las Vegas for work and 2 days after leaving the store I get a call. Somehow a number of accessory items had been left off my order.They asked me to give them my credit card information over the phone and it had to be done that day in order to keep my installation date. I politely declined and informed them that I needed to rethink the entire process.
Upon returning from the Thanksgiving holiday, I went to the store and explained that I really had no faith in Magnolia and didn't want them installing a system that required wiring and in-wall/ceiling speakers, etc. The agreed to the re-fund and upon insisting, they also refunded my $100 estimate fee.
I subsequently looked into other Home Theater companies on Angie's and am quite pleased thus far. It turns out that some of the things Magnolia was selling me, like a $179 TV Calibration fee, were bogus add ons.
I should give these guys an F, but I did get my money back. I will NOT go back.
