GARY'S KNIFE SHARPENING

Loved that Gary will come to the house if there is enough work. I had over a dozen knives to be sharpened plus kitchen scissors and gardening tools. So happy to have sharp knives again! He brought everything he needed and set up in the front yard. I took out the basket of items and when he was done he texted me the amount. He had put the knives back in the basket and left them on my porch. Easy to work with.

I contacted Gary initially via email, and he asked me to give him a call, which I did. Gary was extremely knowledgeable and nice. My husband and I had 9 knives sharpened at his location at the Mar Vista Farmer's Market, and the knives were sharpened in a very prompt and professional manner. I am extremely pleased with Gary's Knife Sharpening and will use his service again.

Beautiful job, easy to work with, and NO DRAMA.  Just did the work with a smile and left me with perfectly sharpened knives.

I searched the list, found Gary and read the reviews. Loved that he makes home visits. I called him during the first part of the week and we were able to schedule a time on Friday. He arrived early and immediately got to work by setting up his table and sharpener in front of our home. I offered our driveway and garage, but he declined, saying it's better to be near his vehicle, in case he needs something. When he finished with the knives and scissors, my stepfather asked him to take a look at the blade on our electric lawn mower. He turned it over, cleaned off all the caked on grass and sod and went over it again with a steel brush. Gary is pleasant and friendly and respectful. I was very pleased with his work and I will call him again.

Gary was such a nice guy. Very pleasant on the phone yet professional. Scheduled an appointment for knife sharpening (full set of Henkels Professional knives) that were as dull as popsicle sticks. He actually arrived ahead of schedule and did a great job. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or refer him to friends.

Gary answered my contact email promptly, and I was able to schedule his visit for two days later. Gary arrived at the designated time, set up his equipment, and soon was at work sharpening everything I had ready. In what seemed like a very short time, he was back with everything ready. Gary answered all of my questions regarding the proper care of the knives. I had one knife that I wasn't sure needed sharpening, and Gary indicated it did not--bonus points for honesty!

Gary was great. He came and setup his tables and girders just like he does at the farmers market. He has a youthful new gawker charm and he knocked it all out in an hour. So convenient to have the old world artisan show up at the house and make it happen right before your eyes. I would recommend his service any day of the week. I was at a beverly blvd salon and my hair stylist stated that she used gary in the past and loved his skills. Keep it going Gary!

We are very happy with the work done by Gary's man at the Pasadena Farmer's Market.
Both stainless steel and carbon steel knives were sharpened to an excellent edge.
I'd procrastinated for years out of fear of somebody messing up good knives so they were almost useless by the time I took them in. Now they are at their best, certainly much better than the original out-of-the-box semi-sharp condition of new knives.

Called up Gary and left a message. I received a call back that afternoon and he offered a few dates/times that he could come out prior to Thanksgiving.
We agreed on a time and he arrived right as expected. He asked to plug into an exterior outlet and set up on the side of my lawn while i retrieved the knives from the house.
All in all, it took him 10-20 minutes and I had him sharpen multiple japanese/german brands/sizes plus some kitchen utility scissors. Overall really good work and the knives look great. Easy/quick/convenient, would definitely recommend and use in the future.

They came to house to do the job which I found to be very convenient. They were very fast and made sure my knives were as sharp as they could get. Don't buy new knives if they get dull, get them sharpened! Very pleased with Gary's service.

I emailed with Gary's Knife Sharpening to inquire about their home sharpening service. There's a 40.00 minimum to have them service at home, they charge by the length of knife. I didn't think I would meet the minimum, so Christine suggested I come by to one of the Farmer's Markets that they set up at. I was going to go on December 1st, and when I checked my email she had messaged me to tell me that the Farmer's Market in South Pasadena was cancelled because they had no power, and she wanted to make sure I did not make a special trip. I thought that was really thoughtful! I did see her the next week, she sharpened all of my knives, including my French steak knives and Japanese knives. I did end up meeting the minimum for home service, because I brought all my knives in, but it was nice to shop the market while I waited. The knives work great, very sharp. She's really pleasant and I couldn't be more pleased with the service.

I called Gary to sharpen my kitchen knives at my house. Even though he was driving when I called, he pulled over and scheduled an appointment with me on the spot. When he arrived, he was on time, courteous, professional, and kind. It took about 15 minutes and my knives were probably sharper than when I bought them! I highly recommend him and will use him next time.

Although I live a good distance from Gary, he arranged to come to my house within a week. He was very prompt and professional, and I'm happy to be chopping and carving with sharp knives again. I would definitely use him again.

Christing showed up exactly when scheduled. She set up her grinder and table and was not only efficient and professional in her work, but made sure to ask if I had any questions about the process; which she then answered showing amazing knowledge about her craft.
