+ -1 more1.0 star rating 9/25/2016 Use this company at your own risk. They did not manage my property; they warehoused it. They did as little as possible, as quickly as possible. The only reason I did not fire them was because of a personal relationship with the owners. That was a huge mistake. When I needed them the most, the personal relationship meant nothing to them. They never inspected the property, so I was unaware of the tremendous damage my tenants did to my property. The move out inspection was shoddy and unprofessional, and didn't follow the procedures established by law. They are completely unprofessional. When my tenant sued me because I deducted from the security deposit to cover cleaning and damages, EGL disappeared and abandoned me. They did not handle the law suit, as they should have; they did not answer emails when I sent them; they did not provide the documentation I needed to defend my suit properly. I was on my own, and I lost the case because of their shoddy and unprofessional work. Had I known they were going to screw me, I would have protected myself better. You have been warned. Stay away from this company.

Description of Work: Don't use this company. I guess they are not interested in Single Family homes for rent. I really don't know as they did not get back to me. If I am a potential customer and they are not responding to me I would hate to be an existing customer......... I submitted request through their web page and received an auto reply confirmation but, nothing else. I emailed them through Angie's List. I also called and was promised a call back. No one ever got back to me. It would have been nice to get some kind of feedback.

Description of Work: I know for myself, running income property is a pain in the neck. Even if you have a resident manager, the accounting, keeping tabs on the property, taking the calls for the repairs was very time consuming. I did a little bit of research, met different reps from a few local companies (some big names, some smaller), and settled with EGL. Pros: They've been around for over 20 years - they know LA, and got my empty units filled in a week or so. They are a family run business. The owners are old school- no nonsense, punctual, efficient, return my calls quickly, etc. I like it that I feel like I'm not just a number. They also have have an easy online web based reporting system - I can check statements, rent etc, 24/7. They take all the calls, make the deposits, pay the mortgage etc. The monthly fee is very reasonable, especially considering the amount ot time I was putting in. Cons: As I said, they're family run. That has it's pros and cons. They are trustworthy, experienced and efficient, and get the job done in a friendly manner. But they don't have the corporate customer service thing going. I think they should work on getting a new receptionist.
