DIAMOND FOAM & FABRIC

I made a chair and needed fabric to cover the seat.  I went to about 5 different fabric stores and found what I wanted at Diamond Foam and Fabric.  Javier suggested that for a relatively small fee they could cover the seat.  I delivered the chair to them on Tuesday and the job was finished by Friday.  When I left the chair I forgot to tell Javier how I wanted to run the stripes on the fabric and he called to clarify this.  I applaud him taking the initiative to do that.  Also, when I left the chair Javier estimated a week to complete the job but it was done much more quickly.  I would be delighted to use their services again.

I have shopped at Diamond Fabric many times over the years (since the 1980's). They cater to interior designers and professional upholsterers, but it is open to the public. Diamond Fabric is a huge warehouse type space with thousands of bolts of fabric arranged in a somewhat orderly fashion. It is clean and well lit. You walk around the warehouse by yourself looking at all the fabric arranged on racks. They provide pre-cut samples of almost every fabric, or they will cut you a sample (about 3" x 5") if need be. Don't expect help finding a fabric unless you are looking for something very specific (like blue mohair). Once you find the fabric you want, they are very helpful and service is usually speedy. The fabrics are not inexpensive (ranging from about $15-$100+/yard, but it is still much cheaper than buying fabric at the a design center and you can buy the fabric right then. No waiting for it to be shipped from Italy.
