I has having some issues with my previous pool service not living up to expectations which is why I contacted Davis Pool. My pool had some algae forming. Wasn't terrible. Easily fixable with chemicals or brushing. Steve checked out my system, gave me a quote, said he could fix the algae issue easily. He said there was nothing wrong with my pool system when he gave me the quote. He came by the first 1-2 weeks in the 6 weeks since I hired him.
The algae got much worse due to lack of visits to service my pool. After repeated times of communicating the issue with Steve, saying it would be fixed and he would service my pool, he still has yet to visit my home. It has been over a month since the last visit to service my pool. He said my pool was stained and all of a sudden on its last legs but that he would visit a few days later to service it. However there has still not been a visit to my pool. I was able to brush algae off myself with a pool brush so it wasn't actually stained. I now need to find a pool service that will actually visit my home weekly and perform the work.
He seems to have too many customers or is too busy to keep up with the work. There is no way he has been to my home in a long time with the state my pool is in now. It is ten times worse than with my last company. And now I have the hassle of finding another company to service my pool.

They have been constantly late; I have had to repeatedly call them to see when they were going to show up. They would say they were going to show up but they did not show up so I would have to call back. It has been about two months and I still am not satisfied with their punctuality, responsiveness and the excuses that they have for not showing up on their regularly scheduled date.

I was told that the process of getting the pool back in line was going to take some time, I understood that... so I thought. We have a salt pool and over the course the month the salt generator/computer was not showing signs of improvement. I would arrive home in the afternoon after the service had been completed on the pool and there was still debris(leaves) at the bottom of the pool, and I thought after service that the pool should be as clean as possible. I evidently didn't understand the process and didn't feel comfortable proceeding any further.

"I went back over any new accounts in May of 2010, and only found one person that was not a regular customer. She called up just for a service call and said her pool was not circulating properly. I went out to her home and found a complete disaster. Their were numerous tall trees hanging completely over the swimming pool ,the pool was a green/gray color, and the pool was not circulating at all. I told her that the pool was in really bad shape, and that the pool equipment was terrible; I told her it would expensive for all that she needed, and she asked if I could do something right then; So I tore apart her filter and cleaned all the grids inside, added chemicals, and got circulation back into pool. The skimmer was not functional. The charge was $125.00, very very fair. She was not a regular customer. She was upset because I was being honest with her about the condition of her pool and equipment"

My previous pool tech sold me a pool pump but did not connect it properly nor did he inform me that my spa and waterfall would not work with the new device. Steve worked tirelessly to try to get the pump to function properly. He has been providing his excellent services for a year now and I highly recommend his company.

Been with them for about two years. Just stopped showing up. No calls, no letters. I guess no recession for them. Update 2/16/09: Please add: Mr. Davis did call me, offered an explanation, accepted full responsibility, apologized, and offered to make things right. I told him I was willing to give him another chance. As a consequence, I would move my evaluations from F category to C category pending future performance.

"IN RESPONSE TO THE COMPLAINT FILED ON JANUARY 17, 2009, THE SERVICE FOR THIS CUSTOMER WAS INADVERTENTLY STOPPED DUE TO A MIX UP THAT WE TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR HOWEVER, WE WERE NOT AWARE OF OUR MISTAKE UNTIL THE COMPLAINT APPEARED ON ANGIE'S LIST. IF WE HAD BEEN CONTACTED BY THE CUSTOMER, WE WOULD HAVE RECTIFIED THE PROBLEM. AS THE CUSTOMER STATED, THEY EMPLOYED US FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS AND HAD NO COMPLAINTS. I HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS OVER 20 YEARS AND STRIVE TO TO GIVE QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL SERVICE."

Steve was on time and friendly. I just bought the house and didn't know how to use the pool equipment and he taught me what each thing did. I appreciated his input and knowledge. I liked him so much that I signed up for monthly service with no worries. I told him I found him on Angie's list and he said he recently got another customer from Angie's List.

They always come on time and there have never been any problems. They get the work done and the pool looks great. I am pleased to have the service and that they are so reliable.
