We thought the job went fine until we received a visit from an inspector from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety in June 2012, 18 months after the alleged completion date. Since then we have learned from a licensed plumber that much of the work was done incorrectly, including plumbing. Lorenzo and Cortes were unresponsive, so we were forced to take them to small claims court where neither party showed for the first trial, claiming they conveniently had to leave the country. We didn't learn of these emergencies until we showed up in court with our expert witness. At the next court date, Celin showed, but Lorenzo didn't. Because we were trying to be civil we agreed to mediate the situation. Cortes promised to fix the problems and have our licensed plumber certify the work. Unfortunately, the people he sent actually made the situation worse as noted by our expert. In fact, we have spent an additional $30,000 to re-do our master bath because of the damage done during the mediated repair. We called Celin about the additional damage only to learn he decided to go to Mexico for a month of vacation during the exact time he was supposed to be supervising the work on our home.
