CARLOS MENDOZA

He is the best painter in the world. We have a craftsman-like house which we are trying to restore so that it can live on. We wanted to repaint it completely. Carlos worked with me to figure out both what I liked and what I didn?t like. He would work slowly with me and would put a little bit on so that I could check it. I really liked the Blacker House. Carlos said that he would check the colors of the Blacker House and he took me over. I wanted to do my house in 3 different colors. We wanted to restore the old wood as much as we could. He said that he would have his people sand the old wood, and later he made up something that looked like a clear stain and then he put spar varnish on top of it. It looks fantastically beautiful. We colored the front room which was not being used. He used the same stain for the inside windows as on the outside. We wanted to make this room into a library/media room. They have a paint called porter paint in Australia which is not a normal paint but is chalk-based. Carlos had no problems working with that although he was new to it, and he did a good job of it.

The paint on my front porch was bubbling up and I wanted to do something about it. My neighbor had tile put on her front porch by this same person and it looked great so I decided to have mine like that. It looks wonderful and I am very happy with his work.
