Agree with what others have said, would give 0/5 if possible and I do not recommend using this company. I understand that in obtaining a quote I need to provide personal information (email/phone) and that information may need to be shared with others. (Still, if you're offering an online quote-- maybe actually give a quote ONLINE?) I did provide my information and what followed next was a bombardment of spam calls-- often repeated attempts from the same number. For example(s): A single company/number called 6 times in a row between the hours of midnight and 1:00am (local time). I received between 15-20 calls within an hour after submitting my quote request. I received two texts from two separate numbers/companies saying the same thing (they were moving a military family and could give me a HUGE discount)-- it has scam written all over it! Additionally-- when I did answer a call I was given the option to speak to a representative or press "9" to say I was no longer interested. I pressed "9" to opt out, and the recording said "f*** you" and disconnected the line!! This happened TWICE with two different phone numbers. This is *unacceptable* to me, and coupled with the multiple phone calls at odd hours, borders on harassment. Again, I know that Budget needs to share my information with other companies and I **did** check the box giving them permission to do so, but I firmly believe they should put more effort into screening their service providers/eliminating spam.

They broke a lot of my things. They kept telling me that they will reimburse me and they never did.

This company sub cotracted Weststar relocation and quoted me $5500 and the actual bill was $8900.  They damaged my furniture and connected me with Anthem Claims Management LLC (under carrier for Weststar) to reslove issue and damages.  Anthem is a shaddy company run by one person and will not respond to 6 written requests to settle damages to my furniture.  I am now working with CA DOJ, BBB and the DOT.  This company has multiple complaints against them on the BBB website as well.  Do not use these folks!!!!

Contacted Budget Van Lines and they did the old two  step , not willing to help at all.  They do not stand behind their product.

I thought I hired Budget Van Lines but they "outsourced"  (unknown to me) the job to Moving Central of Chicago. The movers from Moving Central put a hole the kitchen ceiling and broke a piece of laminate flooring in the Minnesota house while packing in November. I notified Moving Central at the time of the damage and started a claim as requested at that time.  The damage at the Minnesota home was about $500.
When the furniture was finally delivered in Colorado in January, they arrived at 10 PM and finished about midnight. Moving Central refused to cover the claim since I did not sign the correct box on the delivery form. Even though I notified them in November and had several emails and phone calls about it.
I went back to Budget Van Lines and they said they would look into. Several phone calls, emails and months later Budget stopped returning my calls.
I should never have dealt with Moving Central since I hired Budget Van Lines. I am not sure the outcome would have been different but be sure who you are dealing with on any move.
We would never use either company again.

After discovering that a local moving company's estimate to move us from Iowa to Wisconsin (this past May/June 2012) proved much higher than we were expecting, my wife and myself went on-line and immediately spotted Budget Van Lines (5150 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angles, CA).  We contacted them and their estimate was considerably lower (although when all was said and done, they were not significantly lower). They communicated well with us and everything worked out very well, until we discovered that one of our TVs was missing once we moved into our new home.  We contacted them and even showed them the Iowa invoice which listed 2 TVs and the Wisconsin invoice which showed one of the TV listings scratched out.  Their response was, "No, the foreman on the truck said you had only one TV."  They refused to believe us and refused to consider any type of re-imbursemen (we'd asked for $219 - the price of a cheaper, new 32" flat screen).  We felt, and still feel, that the TV was stolen by their movers.  We believe  Budget had contracted with independent movers to do the actual moving - they came in an older, unmarked semi.  Because of the missing (stolen?)TV  we cannot recommend them for any moving job.

This company grossly under estimated the cost of moving three pieces of lawn care equipment.  They assured us the estimate of $1,250 was accurate and the move would not result in additional charges. After receipt of $460, they sent out a mover to the property.  The actual cost would have been over $3,000.  At that price it was not worth the expense yet they refused to refund our $460.   We cancelled the move and hope others will research this company before employing their services.

We spoke to Mitchell, the salesperson, who quoted our move. My husband told him we felt more comfortable booking through them since they were part of the Budget companies. He agreed, but never told him they were NOT part of the Budget rental car company. We were quuaanteed one price, paid the deposit over the phone, and within minutes, Mitchell sent the agreement and held on the phone while we signed electronically. The price was right but we didn't read the fine print. The price per pound was changed and we didn't catch it. Mitchell spoke to me and my husband both and quoted us one price then put another price on the agreement. A difference of $335.00. We didn't catch it until we received the final charges. The supervisor, Amy tried every way to make us responsible for not reading the fine print, but would take no responsibility for the employees dishonesty or mistake. He told both my husband and myself one number and charged another. Totally unprofessional and deceitful. The company takes no responsibility when things go wrong and it's their fault. Maybe it was our fault to trust them and not read the fine print. They brokered the move to American Moving & Storage, who did a great job, and I will use that company again.

There was no accountability by budget, or eli trucking. The only one who knew where the furniture was-was the driver of the van, the dispatcher knew nothing. Nineteen days later, the furniture was delivered. Many things were lost, there was nothing that wasn't scratched or broken. The money is made by these movers by cramming many loads from various moves into this truck. On arrival to Colorado, my Family was appalled by the crammed contents in the truck, and the condition of my belongings.

This has turned into a real nightmare. I have tried to get in touch with the carrier all day today (Sunday) and all I get is voicemail. I have tried to call the three people I have talked with before at Budget to no avail. I left a voicemail with the Budget dispatching "crew" at 10:00 am assured that "someone will return your call within two business hours" and again at 12:30 and have got nothing from them. I suppose Sunday is not "business hours". I cannot imagine a worse situation. My daughter's husband, a Marine, is getting back to Twentynine Palms this coming Saturday night after 7 months in Afghanistan. All my daughter wanted was to have his bed there for him to sleep in after 7 months sleeping in holes in the ground, and these worthless bastards can't get it together. So, tomorrow morning (Monday) I will be calling Budget to try to get my $491.63 back (not holding my breath for that one) and to tell them that I will be renting a truck and doing the moving ourselves. At this point I don't want them anywhere near our belongings. I don't trust them to even get the little bit of stuff we have to move to its destination. This has been one miserable experience.

The worst experience of my entire life. I am still traumatized by this event. This is the first time I have ever hired a moving company, and believe me, I learned my lesson. These clowns are worse than the 3 Stooges. If only I could tell you all the story. You probably wouldn't believe me. It's just too insane.

The move was scheduled for Aug 18, 2008 and they showed up on Aug 22, 2008 at 4pm. The movers we alright once they got there. They packed until 11:30pm. The told me I would have my items by the next Tuesday. On Sunday I received a call that one of the movers was in the hospital and it would delay them until Wednesday or latest Thursday. I was understanding and asked them to keep me informed of the situation. I was then unable to get a hold of anyone from Monday until Wednesday. Once I did, I was told they would be there on Thursday. I consequently was told every time thereafter they were about an hour away. This lasted for four days until they showed up Sunday, August 31 at 7pm. They showed up with ONE mover, Johnny and the inability to get down my driveway, despite me telling them it was steep. Had my mother not been here with the truck we would still have been moving a week later. My mother and I worked just as hard as Johnny did. We ended up getting done at 2:30am. I was first happy to have received my stuff despite the 5 days past the original date, then I found out they destroyed a desk and trunk. Lost my bed rails, grill and axe and did damage costing over $500. I then called several times to see if my missing items were found, once they called me back, they said they did find them and I would be receiving them shortly. I then proceeded to call them everyday for a week to find out how to file a claim and they said e-mail them. Then it took another week to get a straight answer on the process which is to write a letter with pictures and mail it to an address in GA. NO word yet on the claim or the missing items they found.
