The Laundry room was completed first as requested so we would still have a sink when the kitchen was demo'ed. When we were ready for the kitchen install, they were very prompt and reliable.

Cabinets were designed with cabinetmaker and us to our exact specs and needs.

Larry is one of the most wonderful craftsmen I've ever worked with. He's an artist, and a generous soul -- and an incredible cabinet-maker. His work is exquisite, and he is meticulous about making sure the customer is happy (we are currently in the midst of finding just the right wood and stain for the central shelf in the bookcase, and he keeps patiently coming back to me with samples). I've had many compliments on the fireplace piece, and I'm sure I'll have the same with the bookcase, which will be installed in just a few weeks. I wouldn't work with anyone else for this kind of project.

Our home was built in the '50s and was really starting to feel dated, both in aesthetic and design. Larry spent some time with us discussing what we liked and didn't like about the flow and the look of the house. He gave us ideas and advice without ever being pushy or trying to sell us something we didn't want. Some things we thought we wanted were not possible but he devised inventive compromises that satisfied our wants as well as the building codes. He came up with an open plan design that looked like it would work well and various finish options for us to mull over while he finalized the details of the plans. By the time we had worked out the finishes we wanted for cabinets and counters a couple of days later, Larry had the design, budget and timeline completed. 
The construction phase, while stressful, met almost exactly the expectation Larry had given. A surprise plumbing issue when we opened a wall cost us a couple of days delay but no surprise change order fees! Other than that hiccup, he was done when he said he would be done, delivered what we saw on the plans and had discussed, and paid the amount we were expecting to pay when we signed the contract. There has to be a catch, right? It's now three years later and I haven't found it yet. We have an open plan kitchen that has changed the way we use our house. The recycled bamboo veneer cabinets are as beautiful as the day they were installed. The soapstone counters have held up amazingly well and look new (on the days that I clean them) and even the extra deep, extra wide drawers that Larry designed for our crockery still close with a single finger touch. Considering how my pre-teen and teenage sons treat everything else, that in itself is a small miracle!
I think we'll be in this house for quite a while, but if I ever do move again, the first person I will be calling is Larry to come and work his magic on the kitchen. Truly an old school craftsman.

It went great.  Larry is honest and meticulous, and he's comfortable to be around.

Larry sat with us and listened to our overall design goals and then gave us a couple of options which achieved those goals. His sense of space is awesome and he somehow managed to double the amount of usable storage in our kitchen area while making it look a lot simpler than we had before.
We had a quote from another contractor who was a little cheaper, but the quality of the work Larry gave us and his attention to our needs throughout the process were priceless. We have already forgotten about the money but take pleasure in our kitchen and bathroom every day.
The next time we need any cabinet or furniture making done I doubt we will even bother getting competing quotes. Larry was just too easy to deal with this time around.
