SCAM ALERT! To say I'm furious is an understatement. My rage is equally divided between the ludicrous 'DETAIL' I received from Bros and the lack of vetting and response by Living Social, which sold me a 50% off voucher. Let's be clear, a detail that doesn't include dressing the interior leather, or shampooing the cloth upholstery, doesn't provide Armor-All, or similar cleaning agent for the dashboard, tires, bumpers, and which doesn't clean the headliner, or wax my convertible hardtop and remove blatant debris inside the liner is not a detail-- it's a wash and vacuum. After buying two coupons for my car and my wife's-- at the bargain rate of $160-- Bros showed up and explained that the detail I bought did not include a host of things, including shampooing the upholstery and carpet. When I said I wanted a refund I was told I couldn't-- that I should have read the fine print-- all sales were final (later we found out this was a lie). They then said they would help me and do the upholstery of both vehicles, as well as everything else for another $120-- so having to sell one of the cars and leaving town the next day I agreed. MISTAKE! Have you ever heard of two complete interior and exterior details being completed in under 2 1/2 hours? As I walked around the cars pointing out all the dirt-- they kept explaining why they didn't clean those specific items. We don't go inside glove compartments because some people keep valuables. We don't do the headliner because there is cardboard underneath and the stains will smear. We don't put Armor-All on tires because it's not good for the rubber. When I showed them all the dirt inside my convertible hardtop they apologized and spent all of two minutes cleaning it-- leaving it in the exact same condition. They didn't even clean the front license plate. All the vents were left dusty. The center console had something sticky on it-- they didn't even wipe it down.  In short-- a pathetic detail. Living Social has been non-responsive and evasive regarding our $280 for a job the equivalent of a $10 car wash.  I felt comfortable using this company because of Living Social-- which will not happen again.
The worst part was receiving a phone call from Bros addressing my complaint to Living Social. A 7:00AM aggressive confrontation calling me a liar. In the middle of my getting angry I was told, "You should know I am recording this conversation." This deceptive action is illegal. You can't record conversations without either announcing that fact up-front, or asking permission-- neither was executed. Just as astounding is Living Social's non response to my complaint regarding this matter. We will contact the head of the company directly and try to prevent other people from being scammed by this company. Overall, I can only describe this experience as one own the most bizarre I've ever had. If we fail to get Living Social to act decisively we will be reporting this scam to the authorities.
