We approached Bradco after talking with several contractors. We own a 1929 home that had had very little remodeling done so it needed updating. We are restoring the house and wanted to preserve as much of the original cabinetry and details as possible. But the original cabinets we wanted to keep had been covered with crappy latex paint (over oil-based paint, without primer!), so they needed stripping and special handling. Then we needed new lower cabs to accommodate a dishwasher, and a proper hood over a new range, as well as new custom lower cabs around the oven. The laundry room needed shelves and a built-in hamper, with new countertops, flooring, and backsplash throughout. We wanted a new banquette seating/storage in the breakfast nook, and a shelf there for cookbooks. The team at Bradco was the first we found to be interested in the idea, as opposed to advising we just rip everything out. We are very particular and detailed, and had done lots of research about the original period. We had sourced places where our doors and original hardware could be stripped and re-used, and we worked with Bradco to coordinate these other more unusual aspects of the job. We knew it would be more complicated and time-consuming than just ripping everything out and putting in new everything. They really listened to us, and appreciated all our very detailed ideas and homework. They came back with a reasonable budget and some good design solutions, and got to work. The custom cabinetry and shelving work is outstanding, and was actually delivered quickly. Our foreman was efficient and amiable, and very helpful and patient, as we had lots of questions. My husband and I both work from home so we were on site every day, and I'm sure that was intense for them. But everyone was always pleasant and efficient. Workers were as quiet as possible while on the job, which we and our neighbors appreciated. The painter in particular was very detail-oriented and took great care in every nook and corner. At some point there were some issues having nothing to do with our job that interrupted the workflow -- flooring, new cabinets, tiling and countertops were installed and looked great, but the team had been pulled onto another job or something, before our job was completed, so we couldn't move back in yet. Overall the job took much much longer than we felt it needed to, and we felt like communication broke down. But once we brought this to the owner's attention, we felt like he addressed the problems and helped get the project back on track. Begun in January, the project was completed in mid-September of last year, and we are so pleased with everything about our new kitchen/laundry/bathroom. The workmanship is outstanding and everything about the space is 100% more functional, while still looking like it would have looked when it was built (but better!). We love that Bradco was willing and interested in working with our exact needs and desires for a "hybrid" update/restoration. And we have the exact kitchen that we dreamed about. We highly recommend Bradco for outstanding craftsmanship.

The work went according to plan.  The job was laid out perfectly line by line.  We knew exactly what we were paying for and how much each component was going to cost.  There were no surprises.  There was excellent communication between the crew supervisor and the management of Bradco.  Any problem we had - whether big or small - was handled with no fuss.  Even 6 months after everything was complete, I called Bradco because I wasn't happy with the way one of my drawers was closing.  They sent someone out to fix it.  A few months after that, I noticed the caulking was a little cracked. Again, no problem  with coming out to fix it.  But I believe their greatest credit came when I thought the paint on the light rail of the cabinets had a different finish from the the cabinets themselves.  Instead of repainting the cabinets, they came out and changed the light rails which necessitated changing the under cabinet lighting.  This was all at their expense. This company stands behind their work and takes responsibility for their mistakes.

Uninspired designs, market value pricing.   The construction estimate left the homeowner open for sizable

overages and included charges for items that were not necessary or were too "open to interpretation.", leaving home owner liable for sizable cost overruns on a small galley kitchen.  BRADCO was  therefore not hired.

We went down to the Bradco showroom and met with Rachel who's the designer.  We arranged an appointment where she and Charlie (the contractor) came over the to the house and scoped it out.  Then they sent us the estimates.  The entire process was very professional and efficient.  These guys remodel kitchens and bathrooms almost exclusively so they know what they're doing.  That's also why we approached them.  However, the cost was too prohibitive to move forward.  We had heard that they were expensive... but I think they are roughly 30% more than other service providers based on our various bids.

I recently remodeled my  kitchen and purchased my cabinets through Bradco Kitchens.  I did a ton of research beforehand looking for the best value, price and service.  I had gone to some other places in the city.  Some where outrageously expensive, others  were within my budget but didn?t really come up with any designs that aligned with what I wanted.  Buyers beware ? this one place I went to, they were basically crooks, rushing  through the sale process only to find out the box  and drawerbox construction were crap (particle board aka sawdust and stapled drawers ? No thanks!)  At my first appointment at Bradco kitchens I really felt I was in good hands with my designer. After having shopped around so much I did have a very specific idea of what I wanted and really felt like my designer listened to my needs.  Their showroom is huge so they had samples of pretty everything I wanted to see in person including about 10 or 15 kitchen vignettes.  Much easier to imagine what your new kitchens will look like when you can see it in person on display.    Even though I knew what I wanted she made some great suggestions that saved money and worked better.  For example, I had it in my head that I needed roll out shelves on every single cabinet, my designer
told me that was unnecessary and all those accessories were the reason I was going over budget.  She showed me some really cool accessories that I didn?t even know existed like a pull out corner shelf that were even cooler and cost less money than a million roll out shelves.  Love my new kitchen!  Thanks Bradco!

"Dear [member name removed], Before everything let me apologize for your experience at Bradco. I am sorry that you felt ignored and that is certainly not how we want our clients to feel. Bradco is a "Design Build Firm" we are specialized in complete projects. Our designers design the complete kitchen, bathroom or other areas of the home and sell all the materials for that project. We are really not set up to sell one faucet, or sink. Nonetheless the designer that took care of you should have explained this. It is also our policy to not immediately engage the client when they walk inside the store. It is our believe that clients want to browse the store, see the different styles and designs and then get engaged with a designer. Our design sessions usually take about one hour and we discuss everything about the project. Our main focus is the cabinetry and then we move on to all the items around it such as counters, tiles, sinks, faucets and accessories. Once again, sorry that you were not explained that yo did not come to the right place. Sincerely, Michael Kienzl, President Bradco Kitchens & Baths"

At the beginning the project was going smoothly, but very quickly the company started to add on new and unexpected charges and became very boisterous and aggressive when I didn't readily give in to their new charges etc.  Also, the company did a poor job ordering parts and such it needed, causing delays in their finishing in about 4 months what was originally scheduled to be about 7 weeks.  Also, some of the parts I had purchased were being switched out for cheaper parts, and I had to confront them letting them know I was aware of what was going on.  The situation was for the most part (i.e., not completely) corrected.  Most disturbing was the fact that the company staff often played "good cop bad cop" games when any issues arose, and I quickly learned this was a strategy they employed to essentially get their way.  Perhaps most disturbing was the fact that the company voiced explicitly to me that their object was to make money:  of course there is no objection to that in itself but I had the distinct sense throughout the project that the company was insensitive to the fact that this was my home and that my object as a client was to have the best home possible within my budget and not to deprive them of money.   I had to redo some of the work within a year.  Not the best installation of cabinets or appliances.

Bradco did our kitchen and two bathrooms. They charged us a $3000.- "Design Retainer" which they fully reimbursed towards the purchase of the materials we bought from them. We opted for their custom cabinet line as we felt that this would give us the optimum use of our space. Throughout the project we have been dealing with our designated designer Pamela. She is a professional and a pleasure to work with. She kept involved and visited the job site numerous times until the project was completed. The owner of Bradco was also involved in some of the decision making, they are pleasant people who give you an honest opinion. The design was very professional and they took our ideas and lifestyle in consideration. Bradco does not do the actual contracting work but they have a professional in house construction firm (B&R Construction Inc.) that does all the construction work. As our scope of work entailed the moving of walls and some other major construction tasks, we felt that it would be best to use Bradco and B&R Construction. We opted to do the full package with Bradco including the appliances and we also used some of their handmade tiles and bought all the fixtures from them . Of course we checked prices and we did have find some of the faucets and sinks at a better price on the internet. We felt that the convenience of having it all come from one place was worth the minor epicarps. Once we looked at the whole package we got a fair price. The construction team of B&R Construction was very professional and the foreman actually a lady by the name of Jaime had an eye for detail and quality in workmanship. There were some scheduling issues with the counter top installation which we also purchased from Bradco but all in all they performed as promised. We did have some lower bids from other contractors but once we had a meeting with the B&R estimator Charlie we understood why the B&R bid was a little higher. Their estimated are very detailed and they write down everything in detail which the other contractors neglected to do. All in all it was a pleasant experience and we would not hesitate to recommend both companies and use them again.

The same owner is there but there are some different people there. They did a wonderful job. The work was fine and they worked within my budget which was really nice. Instead of replacing cabinets they did a reface and they did a very fine job. It is top notch. Their pricing and quality were very good. The fellow we worked with was extremely helpful. We wanted to use them again for a different remodel of the house but they would not come out unless they charged us money upfront. It was $2,000. We did it with the kitchen and didn't have a problem with that but my husband wasn't sure who he wanted to work with this time so that held us off.

"Dear [Member Name Removed], I am fairly familiar with your project as I personally had several telephone conversations with you and I also was present at several design sessions you had with our designer Rachel Pasterino and with the construction foreman. I would like to answer your comments point by point. We surely tried to earn your business but in the end you and I decided that it was better for both parties to move on. Here are my answers to your comments. “Boy, I was wrong and taken by surprise” I really do not think that you were taken by surprise, Rachel Pasterinowhich was your designer, the design process and design fee was explained to you in detail. We have a detailed design agreement in writing which was presented to you. You had this agreement for several days and then returned it signed. I think that you had every opportunity to read the terms and conditions. “The designer and construction supervisor I dealt with before during my kitchen project were no longer there for some unclear reasons.” Yes you are correct, as you stated you came back after 10 years, the designer that worked on your kitchen design got married and moved to Colorado, the construction supervisor retired and lives in now in Ohio. People move on after 10 years, many of our other staff members which you knew from your first project with us are still with us. “They require me a $1K deposit for the design that can be done by others using the software program 20/20 (just like Lowe's, except its free at Lowe's)" I really beg to differ, our bathroom design for you was detailed and you had at least six to seven hours combined in design meetings with two of our designers and with the B&R construction supervisor. We made several trips out to your project site to verify measurements and to meet with you on sight. Furthermore, we accommodated your after hour schedule and your designer Rachel stayed late to meet with you and your wife several times. “Then, the lead person I've been dealing with my bathroom suddenly left the company (again, for unclear reasons) as well as the construction supervisor who did an initial estimate” That is simply not true, Rachel is still with us and so is Eli Shoef the Construction foremen is also still with the Construction company. “I found out that their drawings or measurements were off---critically off.” I strongly dispute that, we gave you several design options for the bathroom and our affiliated construction company gave you also a bid. You kept pressuring us to match internet prices and asked the construction estimator to lower the price. We accommodated you as good as we could but we are not trying to compete with everybody that is out there. We give quality work and we stand behind our work and products. You decided to go with someone else because we told you that we will not be able to lower our prices any further and because we also did not agree to deduct the sales tax in return for cash payment. It is simply against the law. We never did any work at the project site accept taking the measurements and preparing several possible design options. Our prices are very fair and they usually compete easily with Dome Depot or Loews prices. I am certain that you did not compare the items “APPLE TO APPLE” You choose to buy your products and services from someone else and I have no influence on the products or space planning they provided to you. I also do not understand why the other company that sold you the tub would not take it back; did they not double check what they were able to install? I am sorry that we could not accommodate you and am glad to hear that someone else could satisfy your needs. Sincerely Michael Kienzl President Bradco Kitchens & Baths"

Response from Bradco Kitchens + Baths

"Dear Member, Your comments are not only wrong but they are clearly out to discredit our business. I am not surprised as you warned us that you would damage us in whatever way you could if we insisted for you to pay the outstanding balance. Now the facts. Bradco Kitchens did sell you Silestone material in good faith and B & R Construction fabricated and installed the product. After the installation was complete you complained that the Stone you ordered was scratching easily and that it discolored. We immediately got you in contact with the manufacturer SILESTONE and their representative Foster Oakley took care of all your concerns. Both Bradco and B & R Construction assisted in any way they could. Silestone acknowledged that this particular slab was defective and that this was a manufacturers problem. As a matter of fact Silestone discontinued this color after the incident. You were invited to the Silestone yard to select a new slab and you did choose a different color. The Bradco Designer and the B & R Foreman worked diligently to make this all happen in a timely manner. This was clearly not the fault of anyone at Bradco nor B&R Construction, it was a manufacturing problem of Silestone and they immediately took care of it. It is like you bought a Kohler faucet at Home Depot and your plumber installed it and then a handle fell off or the valve leaked. That is not Home Depot's or the plumbers fault, all they can do is assist you as good they can to get you a new faucet from Kohler. B & R Construction removed the already installed counter, fabricated, delivered and installed the new counter, all of course at no cost to you. Bradco gave you a substantial reduction on the outstanding balance but that still was not enough for you. You threatened Bradco that if you would not get a bigger reduction you would do everything in the community to discredit us. When the B & R installer came to apply the last touch up's you let him intentionally wait outside for over one hour even though the appointment was scheduled at 8 am and confirmed. We had to hire a lawyer for you to finally pay the balance. We want to give you the worst grade as a client and we hope that if any fellow business owner reads this be aware, this member is not a reasonable person. We have been in the community for close to 30 years and it does happen from time to time that we fall on a client that just can not be satisfied. Michael Kienzl President of Bradco Kitchen Inc. Though I love my kitchen, I still wasn't pleased with how my kitchen countertops were looking. Since I'm in the kitchen often, it definitely looked like my countertops have been used too many times. Hearing about Bradco's April special promotion for no sales tax, I quickly jumped on a call to take about the project I had in mind for new countertops. Immediately, we scheduled someone to come by my house to check out the space and got a date locked in for the books to complete this project. After talking to an experienced designer who was very helpful, we decided to go with a dark gray silestone countertop that matched the modern look of my kitchen. The construction took a solid 5 days to get completed, and I couldn't be happier. The crew was amazing and very punctual, and most importantly, my new silestone countertops look amazing. I couldn't ask for more with such a beautiful job well done and a great price to go along with it. Hurry up and take advantage of this special!

Knowing that Bradco was the place I would go to for custom cabinetry, I was pleased to see they're in-store showroom. An interior designer was available to show me their selection for green cabinets which was impressive because there is no difference in exterior with green and non-green cabinets.

What I like about Bradco Kitchen and Baths are their great customer service and presentation. Every time I had questions, I was answered within one business day. I definitely recommend them to anyone who wants home design services.

Last year, I was having serious organization issues with my Kitchen. I became so sick and tired of tupperware all over the place, lids to pots and pans with no real place to put them, a corner cabinet where all the important stuff gets stuck in the back. My top priority besides having a nice look was having organization space where everything is on hand. Thats where Angela from Bradco stepped in and everyday from then on, I walk into it my kitchen and still can’t believe how lucky I am to have gotten my dream kitchen. I can't tell you how easy cooking, cleaning and organizing is in my kitchen now. Because of our budget, Angela helped cut down things that I really didn't need in order to meet our circumstances and she really listened to our needs. We plan on living in our home for a long time, so we might as well make the best of it.  Thank you Bradco for making our dream kitchen a reality!
