I couldn't agree more with all of the bad reviews Boulevard has received. I have given them multiple chances?at least four or five. They are slow, slow, slow and NEVER meet their commitments for when the machine will be ready. I get their excuse that parts may be difficult to get from Dyson, but even after they get it in shop they will make no effort to expedite the repair even after they have repeatedly missed dates they promised the machine by. Finally, I have decided never to return. Also, because of the length of time it takes them to repair I bought a second vacuum so I wouldn't be without while I wait on them. With 2 large Goldens my vacuums get a work out and I am in the habit of taking my vacuums in every six months for routine maintenance. So, none of my visits to them have entailed any thing more than cleaning, replacing filters, etc.

n id OKI've used them befpre but this time I changed my mind because this is how they do business: You take in the vacuum. They tell you to call them the next day for a quote. They ask you if you want a new vacuum. They say the labor charge will be either $29/hour or $59 depending on the complexity of the vacuum. If you don't like the quote, you can take back the vacuum at no charge. I called the next day and they said it will be $108 and will be ready 9 days later but I should check with them before I come in to see if it is actually ready. I said OK. They said we want a credit card number to guarantee it. I said you have the vacuum to which they said in this economy a lot of people don't return to pick it up. I said OK. I called 7 days later to make sure it would be ready in 2 days. They said call back in 2 days. I said will you tell me it will be ready and they couldn't promise that. This was to put on a new electrical cord and new roller that would have new brushes. I said I will come and pick it up now. They had already charged my card which seems a little aggressive. They refunded the charge. It's like dealing with the government. I took it to an "A" rated place and they said it will be ready the same day if he has the roller part in stock. And the price will be $40. What a difference in attitude. I don't care about the price.

The employee I spoke with asked me to leave the vacuum so that they could look at it and diagnose the problem. Since the shop was empty and i saw at least one other employee, I asked if we could turn the vacuum on with the thought that he could determine whether it was the hose or filter needing to be replaced, or something more complicated that would require a more in-depth diagnostic. He told me "no" and that there was a specific person at the shop with whom I'd need to speak and that person would be out until Tuesday. He told me that he'd have the person call me on Tuesday, but that I should also feel free to call and that I should also explain my conversation with Dyson and what they thought might be the problem. The fact that the shop didn't have a system in place to communicate why the vacuum had been dropped off didn't exactly inspire confidence, but I got the vibe that this was one of those small repair businesses that do things the "old-school" way (i.e. personal communication, handwritten signs in the store, etc.). By Tuesday afternoon I hadn't heard from Boulevard, so I called and spoke with the specific person. My vacuum had not yet been looked at. He thought he might get to it that day, but wasn't sure. He'd be out Wednesday, but would call me on Thursday or Friday. By Friday, I hadn't heard from Boulevard, so I called them. What they thought was the problem was completely different from what Dyson thought. They also said it would take 3 weeks to do the work because of workload and some staffing issues. I decided not to have the work done. Boulevard Vacuum may do amazing repair, but a 3 week wait was too long for me, plus I'd been unimpressed with the level of responsiveness I'd experienced with just having them diagnose the vacuum.
Description of Work: After unsuccessfully troubleshooting a suction issue via phone with Dyson they provided me with a few recommended repair places, including Boulevard. I brought my Dyson into their shop on a Saturday afternoon and explained the issue, as well as what the Dyson person thought might be the problem.

See above, a truly horrible experience. I will never go back there. I told dyson the same thing and they found me another dyson authorized facility to use. Very unprofessional. I advised dyson to thoroughly review this place as I felt that they were highly incompetent.
Description of Work: I took my dyson dc-28 in for a warranty repair on approx. November 11th, and at the time I was told that once the tech had a chance to look at it I would receive a call. The call never came. So I called 5 days later and told the guy that works on dyson wasnt available, and he would call back. I did receive a call a couple days later and told the part had to be ordered, which was fine. I was also told my vacuum needed service, which I agreed to although I had only used the vacuum a total of 8 or 9 hours the entire year. After thanksgiving I called on the vacuum, and was told the part wasn't received. I went down to talk to the repairman after 4 weeks to see if it was ready, and he wasn't in. After 6 weeks I called dyson to complain about the length of time for the repair, and they had a supervisor call the manager, Ron. Ron stated my vacuum would be repaired that week, but couldn't give them a firm date. By the Friday of that week, I called and spoke to Ron myself, and he told me to come down and pick up the machine, and that it was ready. I picked up the machine the Thursday before Christmas after a long, drawn out, condescending and unnecessary conversation with Ron about how complicated the vacuum and repair was. When I returned home from the holiday the following week, I went to use the vacuum and IT DIDNT WORK! The head did not adjust to the floor setting, the floor setting light kept flashing, the wand would not expand from the handle at all, and there were numerous scratches on the machine. To add insult to injury, I paid $69.99 for servicing the machine! I believe that was the worst part in that I paid for service and they didn't even check the machine, otherwise they should not have let it out of the shop. A truly disappointing experience.

My vacuum cleaner (V.C.) was not performing well and I thought about buying a new one. When I looked at Angie's list, I found Bouleverd Vacuum Cleaners as a place they fix such appliances so I decided to give it a try. I took the V.C. to the store and in 24 hours they gave me an estimate as well as a description of the work they were going to perform. I found the price reasonable and told them to go ahead. Two days before expected, I got a phone call telling the V.C. was ready. I picked it up today and have the feeling of having a completely new appliance (the V.C. is about 5 years old). The store looks spotless and amazingly well organized. The people working there are very professional and helpful. I never thought that a V.C. should be serviced the way we do with cars. Now I have a sticker in my V.C. reminding me that in 12 months I should take it back to have it cleaned and serviced.
Description of Work: They fixed a piece of the vacuum cleaner (V.C.) that regulates different vacuuing strengths of the appliance depending on the floor -carpet, wood,...- That piece was not moving thus I was vacuuming always in the same position. They installed a new filter and serviced the appliance.

I found Boulevard Vacuum on Angie's List. It looked freshly painted and clean compared to the surrounding buildings, so I had a good feeling about the outfit from the start. They checked my machine in, called me with an estimate, then ordered the parts and fixed it within a day after the parts came in. The Bissell machine worked fine for awhile, then I had to take it back. Boulevard fixed it without charge. It seems to me that the Bissell carpet cleaners are very delicate and complex; a lot of things can go wrong.
Description of Work: Boulevard Vacuum repaired my Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner. The fluid pump had to be replaced as did belts, and the retainer for the rotating brush was broken on one side. I debated about repair vs replacement when the estimate turned out to be half the price of a new machine.
