:Mike Peretz reached out to me via Angie's List when I requested an electrician after power ceased in one of my bedrooms in my condo. Mike's father David came to my home and looked around but couldn't make a determination at that time. However on this day, I was asked to pay 200.00 dollars. The next day, David and Mike returned and David began trouble shooting the problem. He determined that it was a short in one of the outlets. I was again asked to pay another 200.00 for diagnostic. The Peretz started doing the work to fix the short without issuing me a quote or proposal for the overall job. In turn the price kept going up and up until it reached 800.00. I have been told by other electricians that a job to fix a short shouldn't be no more than 200.00. However this seemed to fix the problem until March 2020 when the problem reoccurred. I called David Peretz back to tell him this but he proceeded to tell me that he had told me he was only going to perform a temporary fix. First of all he never said this to me and secondly, I would never agree to something like this. He told me that his son Mike would be contacting me but I never heard back from either one of them, therefore leaving me in a lurch. I was forced to then hire another electrician who determined and fixed the actual problem. It wasn't a short but rather a burnt circuit breaker that had the potential of started a fire if left unresolved and fixing this real problem cost me half the money I was charged by Peretz Electric. Also, I feel that my family was put in danger by these so called professionals that did not diagnose my problem which could have caused a fire then bill me hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
Description of Work: David Peretz the electrician diagnosed and fixed a short in my outlets which turned out wasn't the problem and charged me $800.00 and the same problem returned. I feel as though this company scammed me and didn't do the job promised. They don't give you any quotes or proposals which allows them to constantly changed the price of their work.
