John Grimmett took care of my Honda Accord and my husband's VW Passat wagon from the time we discovered Al Grimmett & Sons in Beverly Hills in 2008, through their move to become part of Blaizer & Grimmett at the new location west of the 405, up until we both bought new cars in 2013/14. When these cars get old, we'll be back to see John.
We have found him to be talented, fair, and totally trustworthy. The price is always reasonable, and he communicates clearly about it up front so you won't have any surprises. He won't perform services he doesn't think are necessary, even if you ask about them (I think a lot of mechanics might just take that as an invitation to charge you for stuff you don't need, but he doesn't). He likes to figure things out. Once, my car was making a weird noise for me but not for him, so he asked if he could drive my car all the way home that night so he could try to get it to make the noise (it worked). But he also won't waste your time or money if he thinks he won't be able to solve things, so one time he told us we'd be better off at the VW dealer for a particular problem.

Both of the brake lights on my '97 Pathfinder went out at the same time and (it turns out coincidentally) my battery was dead when I tried to start the car. I thought it had to be a short or some other wiring problem and, when I called the dealer, they suggested all sorts of expensive tests. So, I took it to B and G (formerly Al Grimmett) Auto Service. John Grimmett had one of his men open the tail-light assembly, replace two burned out bulbs, and sent me on my way for $10. No costly and quot;testingand quot;, no waiting, and a charge that covered the price of the bulbs. Unfortunately, they were forced recently to move from near my home to a new location a good bit further, but this kind of service is why I'd follow them anywhere.

Al Grimmett has always been reliable and they continue to be extremely responsive and good to work with. Don't hold the Beverly Hills location against them. They aren't overpriced and even took care of a large indentation in my rear bumper at no charge. When they felt a dealer would do a better job at correcting a problem with my Infiniti than they would, they directed me to the dealer.

I am impressed with the level of service and professionalism here. If they can't do it properly, they will tell you and advise you how to get it taken care of properly.

They performed the service for far less than the dealer would have charged and as far as I could tell were honest with me in their appraisement of what did, and did not, need to be done. This is the second time I have taken my car to Al Grimmett and they have been pleasant to deal with, punctual and easy to deal with. I will take my car again.

They are very thorough. They do excellent work. The garage itself is a blast from the past. I have been using their services for the last thirteen years now.
