Ryan Jestin, the owner of Arenbelogy, came to my home to estimate the work back in May 2014. We agreed on a fee and layout for 3 separate custom built-in spaces and we provided a 50% ($2,500) deposit on July 2014.
For the next several months Ryan Jestin gave us excuses as to why the work wasn't done. "It was at the shop, It was at the finishers, His installer was injured, were amongst the myriad of excuses he used. He was very difficult to get a hold of, rarely answered e-mails or texts and never returned our calls.
Finally in November 2014, Ryan Jestin admitted that the work had not be started. He sent us a check for $100 and a little "I'm sorry" note stating that he promised to pay us back. We haven't received a penny since then.
Ryan Jestin owes us $2,400. He is a fraudster and should not be allowed to conduct business. Please do your own research on the internet as you will find many similar reviews in the last year. Stay away from Ryan Jestin and Arenbeology.
Where do I start....
The murphy bed/wall unit was installed about a month after we were told it would be ready. When they did bring it in, the unit didn't come with the mattress from Diamond Mattress as we were told we would get. They said they no longer had an "arrangement" with them and can't get us the mattress. We had guest coming in town, so we rushed out to get the mattress so that it would be here when the brought the unit.
When the unit came, they didn't rout out the holes for the lids of the benches that were to serve also for storage. They said they would come back to finish that as well as finish the edges with molding where the unit meets the wall. Weeks went by without a return visit. We finally got a return call, and they said they would come back but had to charge us for another visit because the lids of the benches would have to be taken back to the factory to be routed out and finished and then brought back for installation. Like that was our fault that they didn't do that in the first place! We refused to pay for another visit and they did come in and finish the project, but with a lot of sloppy work.
Doors weren't lined up and trued, the push magnets don't line up with the doors, there are scratches in the finish with peeled off paint, and they left the working area dirty. We had to wipe down the whole thing after they left. Also, one of the push magnets is literally falling off, and others don't line up with the metal on the door correctly. They drilled holes in the wrong places and didn't bother to patch them. It's pretty bad. I would never recommend these people, and at this point I don't want them back in my home again. They did sloppy work, and they felt like they were conning us with trying to charge us for "extra" visits.
