AMERISERV PLUMBING INC

Ameriserv Repiping operates under a bunch of different addresses, but I used the one that lists an Eagle Rock location. The actual work they did was perfectly fine, but I would avoid using these guys for so many reasons. Read on for why... Price was better than some of the other big-name repiping companies, the ones you hear advertised on the radio. The estimate experience was similar to everyone else -- guy comes out with a clipboard and gives you an estimate, etc. The crew, when they showed up, were polite, if a bit odd. They appeared to be an extended family -- which they were. (It gets better!) The guys went to work with the repipe, and seemed to know what they were doing. The foreman explained what they were doing (in broken English, but hey, it's L.A.), and even installed a faucet and shower head that I purchased on my own rather than the stock one they brought with them. My only complaints about the actual work are small, and due I assume to the subcontracting process at Ameriserv. Instead of buying a plastic cap for a roof vent that would go unused, these guys used a rubber glove. And I called for weeks about some iron pipes they left lying around my front yard, but they never came to pick them up and haul them to the dump. So why should you not use Ameriserv? Because at quitting time, the guys would hang out under my house and drink beer, leaving the empties in the crawlspace for me to clean up (some are still there). And because, after a few mid-morning drinks, the foreman confided in me that he might not show up the next day for work, because he had a court date and he was thinking about fleeing to Mexico. It seems he was working under an assumed name (actually, one of 2 assumed names he uses), and had a court hearing about a DUI he got on a previous job, and he was concerned they would discover that he was also on the lam for a parole violation for a stabbing conviction. It seems that the foreman had stabbed his ex-wife, and his teenage son was the one who saved her from being killed... this would be the same teenage son who was doing the drywall repair on his crew. Needless to say, he didn't show up the next day, which might be why that iron pipe never got picked up. Overall an entertaining and eye-opening experience, but I probably won't be calling these guys again.

The job they did was ok, I guess. They were on time and worked hard. Although they were very professional the whole time, they should have told me that my drinking water would taste weird for two months. They said it was in the contract but if I knew that, I probably would not have hired them in the first place.

THEY WERE TERRIBLE. THEY ADVERTISE THAT THEY WILL BE IN AND OUT IN TWO DAYS. IT TOOK THEM EVERY BIT OF THREE DAYS TO NOT COMPLETE THE JOB. THEY DRILLED HOLES THROUGHOUT MY HOUSE THAT I HAVE TO SAND DOWN. THEY LEFT LEAKING PIPES THROUGHOUT THE KITCHEN THAT I HAD TO REPAIR MYSELF. THERE WAS A SERIOUS LANGUAGE PROBLEM. I WOULDN'T HIRE THEM TO EVEN CHANGE A WATER HOSE.

ITS VERY GOOD. THEY WERE ON TIME. THEY TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY SEEMED TO BE THE MOST REASONABLE AS PRICE GOES. THEY WERE ON TIME. THEY WERE HERE WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HERE.
