ALL TIME LABOR

Joe said he would be here at 10 AM to install 3 ceiling fans and sand down a door that had warped. At 10:30 I called and was told that the job had been cancelled. I asked why and was told that Joe had called me on Sunday and that I had cancelled the job, which I did NOT. When I spoke to him on the phone, he kept saying I had cancelled the job instead of admitting he had made a mistake. Then he said he would send two people out by noon to get the job done by the time I needed to leave by 2:30. At 11:40, I received a phone call from someone named Mike asking for directions from Van Nuys. He said he was on his way. An hour later, I called him back. I could hear a TV and children in the background. Obviously, they were not on their way. He first said that he had to go home first to pick up his ladder and then his wife had to do some things. When I told him I had to leave in two hours, he said he didn't know that and that he would be on his way. Then he changed his story and said he was already on his way. I told him to stay home and then Joe called back, belligerently asking me why I had cancelled the job. When I told him how unprofessional this all was, he went on to say that it was my fault for canceling on Sunday, which I hadn't done in the first place. The whole experience was frustrating and upsetting.
