1. Air Conditioning repair: one of my A/Cs stopped working. It turned out to be a pretty big breakdown in the unit, but the guys were on it. They were able to figure out how to access the unit (it's in the ceiling, so it's pretty tricky). They had all the parts in the truck that they needed. They also took the time to show me what was wrong and explain what they were doing. They even showed me additional filters to be changed (they were hidden in the ceiling). As a bonus, they had some filters that they gave me - installed them in both of my A/C units (the broken and non broken one). (Approx cost: $750 - including all parts and labor.) Once the A/C was fixed, they turned it on, and used a machine to take the exact temperature of the air coming out of the vent.
2. Nest installation: I had purchased the Nest a while ago. I thought about installing them myself, but erred on the side of caution and went with a professional. I'm glad I did. They had both Nest units up and running in no time flat! Plus, they knew of another switch to press to turn off the power to the A/C, rather than having to turn off all the power in my unit via the circuit breaker. (Cost: $200 total for both unit installs)
I also really appreciated that they took the time to cleanup. They asked me for my vacuum cleaner, and vacuumed when they finished. They moved paintings off the wall without my having to ask (paintings that were not directly blocking what they were doing, but could have been accidentally hit in the process). They even moved my heavy bed in order to access the thermostat...and remembered to move it back!
Bonus: I forgot to mention, one of the guys heard some noise coming from the vent, controlled by the working A/C. He said "that's not right" and adjusted the grille so that the noise stopped!!!
I would absolutely use them again!
Amir, our technician, was perfectly prompt, wasted no time in checking out the situation, and confirmed the problem (the inducer motor and nothing else so there was no hard upsell or anything like that). Unfortunately the part wasn't in stock, so it had to be ordered and we waited a couple of days, but the office staff was very good in keeping us informed of the progress.
When the part arrived, Amir returned that same day and installed it. No muss, no fuss. They even deducted the original service call fee from the total.
"I would like to express my concerns regarding this unfortunate incident. We do appreciate hearing from our customers, as their comments are vital for us to continue improving our accommodations. You are a valued customer and we apologize for any inconvenience this mix-up has caused. The problem that you mentioned have been brought to my attention and while the lack of service you experienced is unusual and not the overall standards and commitment of our company. There is no excuse for a lackadaisical attitude on the part of any of our employees. We have a zero tolerance regarding incidents of this nature and have terminated the employee.
