Phil, the owner, took time over the phone to discuss the best way to examine our tankless heater and recommend either a replacement or maintenance if our water heater was still in good condition after 12 years of use. A different Phil (same name as the owner) was the tankless water heater specialist who came out to our home and took time to explain what he would be doing step by step before recommending the type of maintenance work needed. Two others company specialists who did the plumbing and welding were also on hand. In all, the "team of three" did an outstanding job (each with their area of expertise) and finished the project with two consecutive morning visits that did not interrupt our home's hot water needs. They cleaned up after their job was done and were extremely courteous and professional. My wife and I will be contacting Phil's Plumbing on a yearly basis to flush our system until it is time to purchase a new stainless steel tankless heater which comes highly recommended. My Takagi tankless water heater developed a leak and was shorting so I looked up Takagi certified repair technicians and Tankless Solutions popped up. After checking the reviews on Angie's List I decided to call to see about getting my water heater serviced. Since tankless water heaters are more of an electronic repair vs. a plumbing repair I decided to go with a specialist. I spoke with a woman at Tankless Solutions who paged the owner Phil to give me a call. Not long afterwards I spoke with Phil and he moved around less critical clients to make sure I was able to get my hot water re-established. Phil came out himself, diagnosed the issue, and was able to get Takagi to replace parts in the unit under warranty. He left to go pick up the parts and had another one of his technicians come later on that same afternoon to start taking apart my unit to prepare for the rebuild. After a few hours Phil returned with the new parts and completed the rebuild. The unit was repaired in well under a day, even with Phil driving to Commerce to get the parts himself on a busy Friday afternoon. When I mentioned that I looked him up on Yelp and Angie's List he proceeded to give me a discount because I mentioned the coupon on the site. Phil was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about tankless water heaters, problems that they can develop, and how to fix them. He was also able to advise me on a normal plumbing issue that I needed to get fixed. All in all I'm VERY satisfied with their work, honesty, and service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any of my friends and family.

After calling several plumbers, Phil and another plumber were the only ones able to come to our house that afternoon and check the water heater. After his inspection, Phil explained that he would need to replace the heat exchanger and other parts at a cost just below installing a new one. He explained it would make more sense to replace the unit and we agreed. He said that he could do the work the next day. Not only did Phil appear to know more about the system than the other plumber, his estimate was half the price. Also the other plumber said he could not replace the water heater for another three days which would mean cold showers for our family!

There was a huge price over run. Estimated 2000 and ended up costing 4300. Seemed to more than needed.

"Thank you for your review, we appreciate all feedback from our customers. I reviewed the paperwork and I can see what happened and where the confusion is. In the original proposal we offered to install the heater with some optional services such as pump and scale control system. The pricing shown on the original paperwork only indicated a price for the install of the heater. The second and final proposal that the work was performed off of shows that you have elected to not only install the heater but also the pump, electrical work and scale control system. That in essence was responsible for the increase in price. I can understand how the confusion happened but I do not believe that it should be something that should be labeled as a price over run. We offered you a fair price for the work you requested along with some discounts as shown on the invoice and once you accepted the services we did our best to provide you excellent service."

EXCELLENT. These people know tankless water heaters inside out. They are true professionals. Most other plumbers will clean a tankless water heater, but will not service them. Phil's are the true experts in Tankless Water Heaters. A little pricey, but worth it for their knowledge and the peace of mind they provide.

It went well. Phil's very professional and obviously a smart, and honest, guy. On-time, reasonable explanations for what's wrong and what it will take to repair. The part was covered by the manufacturer but not the labor. I'll phone him again when the unit requires repair or replacement. Phil is very knowledgeable about the instant hot water appliances. I do wish his price could be a bit less, but I appreciate that he runs his business professionally and treats his staff fairly.

If you have a tankless system I encourage you to add a pre-filter to your system. It really helps with scale deposits and the functioning of the unit. Phil and his crew are polite knowledgeable and care about doing a great job. I have had great experiences both times and would recommend them for all my tankless needs

We communicated mostly by emails for the first few days, as we tried to determine just what parts he needed to supply. Then set and apt to do the work. He came in, was neat, efficient. Took care of my problem .
Nice and easy. He did take the time to look at another plumbing related issue I'd been having for a year - a stinky odor that came and went. Suggested an enzyme for the tub drain, and it solved the problem. Hooray.

Quick and easy. Called two days before, described the problem, scheduled the appt. and hung up. Came on time, did the job quick and mailed me an invoice a day later. Fair price.

There is only one work to describe Phil-AWESOME! I had no idea how to drain a leaking water heater and he walked me through every step, spending almost an hour on the phone thoroughly explaining each step and making sure that I did it correctly so that I didn't blow the water heater up.
The next day, Phil's workers came and efficiently installed a new water heater. I hope I don't need a new water heater anytime soon, but I would use Phil's Plumbing in a heart beat.

Mid-summer 2013 my wife and I acquired a mid-50's, single story, ranch-style home. Our garage can accomodate two vehicles but the gas hot water heater takes up a lot of space, so we wanted to convert it to a tankless system to save space.
After searching Angie's list, we requested a number of quotes from various plumbers. Phil, the owner of Tankless Solutions, spent over an hour on the phone, explaining various types of water hardness control systems and his experiences as a specialist on tankless hot water heaters. He also provided a lot of web links in multiple emails, which I spent considerable timing reading.
I requested that Tankless Solutions provide a multi-option quote consisting of the following options:
(1) Install a Siliphos-based water control system in the garage on the main cold water line.
(2) Re-route a cold water line to the backyard sprinkler system so that the sprinklers do not draw water through the water hardness system (the minerals are actually good for the lawn & plants).
(3) Install a cold water shutoff valve in the garage which shuts off water to the house only. This valve allows us to leave the house for vacation and shutoff water inside the house, while enabling the automatic sprinkler system to remain functional. Why? This is a $50 insurance policy to prevent a burst pipe in the walls, which is expensive to repair. Our house is older, and we don't know all the details of the existing plumbing.
(4) Replace a busted valve on the backyard sprinklers.
(5) Install a Nortiz tankless hot water heater system.
Tankless Solutions provided a detailed quote containing labor and material estimates on a line by line basis for the five options I just described. Due to expenses with our roof repair, we chose to do options 1-4, and perform the tankless installation in the future.
The team from Tankless Solutions completed repair options 1-4 within 5 hours. Workmanship was superb. I'm very pleased with the results, and my wife and I look forward to installing that tankless hot water heater in the near future. (We will be providing a separate review upon completion.)

I cannot recommend Phil and his team highly enough!! From the first call, it is clear that Phil is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to understand my situation and to explain to me all aspects of going with a tankless solution. Most contractors do not care whether or not you understand the details. Then when it came time for the job, he took no shortcuts and went far beyond just installing my new water heater. When he saw the hodgepodge of gas pipes running out of my main gas line, he said he would simplify the whole configuration (and there was no additional charge). I also had Phil take care a few other plumbing issues I had. They did a great job on all of it and left my place immaculate. Finally, I thought his pricing was very reasonable.

Instead of servicing the tankless water heater, they just changed the filter. They did not inspect or descale the unit. They gave me a bid to repair the line under the house and I gave them permission to proceed. I had to keep calling them to find out when they would be out to do the repair. When they did finally show up, they replaced the pipe but in the process cut off the water supply to one of my sprinkler units in the backyard. I now have to water by hand. They were also to install an another bib as part of the repair. They did not do this part of the job. When the owner wanted payment, he did not bring a final invoice but aasked me how much I owed. I had to calculate the balance for him. Never got a final invoice of services performed. Would NEVER use this company again. I have used other contractors and never experienced this poor level of service. The only reason I called them was because they service tankless units and my normal contractor does not.

Servicing the tankless was limited to changing the filter since that you mentioned that unit was descailed by others. Forgive me but I go by notes on my invoice that states exact charges for the different tasks. Tasks were completed and final invoice was given to you. This what I recall 4 months later. Most of the time I do remember all the details about he job. Even the one done 10 years ago. I believe Customer should be happy 100% before handing the final payment otherwise it creates the situation like this one . Looking at my invoice . It lists tasks and pricing next to . The whole job took more than 9 hours and 2 man to complete We did everything that we agreed. Speaking of hose Bibb line, that you accuse me of cutting by accident You must forgot that line that served 3 hose bibs had to be cut out because repairing the line was not cost effective and you had agreed to do so. as part of our agreement we did reroute irrigation line to feed the sprinkler valves. if we missed the installation of hose bib that we charged you for I will be at your door tomorrow to correct the mistake if allow me to do so. I always have been proud of the highest ranking that used to receive in the past. Remarks as yours are hard to accept and believe me I would do anything to reverse it. I made an error in calculating the final cost and you were nice to help with the math.i was having bad cold that week and I did not feel so great. I felt a bit embarrassed not being able to calculate correctly and I did appreciate your help. Now you are making a big deal out of this. I have maintained really high scores by all my customer in the past. It can be easily checked .i also received 3 consecutive rewards . I would like to maintain promise of delivering 100% satisfaction to each of my customers. That includes you Madam. Phil's plumbing is a rare breed. He returns phone calls. Shows up on time. Does a very professional job and cleans up after. My only complaint would be his prices are a bit high. If you can live with that he is a good one to call.
