As usual, the LHS team did an outstanding job at a great price!!! In a single day, Chon Padilla and his team turn our vacant lot of a front yard into another thing at our home to be proud of. Mind you, this is NOT a small yard, it's rather large so it was a lot of work. They tilled the soil, evened out the yard, prepped the dirt, repaired / replaced 12 sprinkler heads, planted tall fescue seeds and applied fertilizer. Three weeks later, we have a beautiful lawn, healthy and uniform! The planter came out great. All the plants are doing well due to LHS's prep work and proper planting techniques. Nothing to complain about here. LHS always does a STELLAR job! When you hire Chon and his team, you can count on quality, great service, professionalism, all at a great price! You will feel confident that whatever job they are doing, will be DONE RIGHT! Do yourself a favor, Call LHS, you'll be glad you did!

Chon, the owner, arrived on time for our appointment about a week prior. We found him to be very friendly, warm, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. After a discussion of our plans and expectations, he surveyed the landscape with us. Thereafter, he gave us a cost estimate that we believed was very reasonable considering the amount of work. He gave us a start date and his worker showed up on time on the given date and everyday thereafter. Each day his employee(s) worked a full day and did an incredible job notwithstanding the heat wave during that week.
Chon was accessible at all times, and when we had a question about further work, he showed up at the agreed upon time to discuss the work. He never tired to up sell any work. In fact, he kept the cost down significantly from what we had in mind at the start of this project. A cost savings of thousands of dollars. And when the work was completed, he had adjusted payment downward from his contract. That was a first for us. We enjoyed working with Chon.
We highly recommend LHS Landscaping. As a matter of fact, we plan to use him again for additional work.

My first call for an estimate on the landscape plan was answered promptly and I was supplied with a written estimate that included options I asked for to control the price via email the next day. The call to accept bid was again answered promptly, contracts were signed and I was given a date to start the project with a two week to completion date. The work was started on time and finished on time. The worker or workers, depending on the schedule, arrived around 7 and worked as late as 5:30. One gentleman, in particular, was very creative and quite the perfectionist. All were pleasant to have around and were careful to clean up. am very happy with the results and would not hesitate to recommend them and will be rehiring them to do my driveway. A great experience.
UPDATE...BEWARE
A great experience until I realized the sprinkler system had not been adjusted to fit the new landscape. I have a walkway from curb to front door that gets well watered, a parkway installation that waters the front sidewalk, and lawn areas that don't get water. Part of the landscaping has died and I'm subject to fines for disregarding the water regulations. The contract does stipulate that the sprinklers will be adjusted. I called and explained my predicament and Chon made one visit (when I wasn't home) and left a note saying he'd return in fall with replacements for dead plants (haven't seen him and it's November) and couldn't improve the sprinkler situation. I've since called a sprinkler professional who explained part of the new installation was done incorrectly......and gave me an estimate of $1000 to correct each issue. So, before the work started I had an adequate sprinkler system and now I"m hand watering.
Also, when I called the company to find out how to set up my timer I learned that I should have been given a remote with my system. I called Chon and mentioned it and he brought it by. Had I not called the company with questions I wouldn't have it now.

Chon (the owner) was wonderful. His company did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Chon was always available and always helpful. Truthfully, they did much more than they originally promised and never added to the estimate. These are great guys. They were very careful of our three dogs and I've never seen that before. I would absolutely hire them again.

This is a very reliable company and we had a great experience. We started with a landscape plan and called for a few estimates. Half the companies didn't even bother to show up--chon did show up--on time--and had the best price. The entire project took 3 1/2 weeks, which was a little more than the three weeks initial estimate because we changed some things as the project went along.
Most of the work was done by two guys, with more people on days that were busy, like during the initial demo, laying sod, etc. The project started with a long block wall being put up -- maybe 50 or 60 feet long and 6 ft high. That took about a week or a little more but they did a great job. They dug out several trees and shrubs by the roots so we could plant other things. They are quite efficient and that work goes quick. During this time, the old lawns were sprayed with roundup so we could put new sod. They followed this up with the cement work, covering another area with gravel, putting in the new plants and sprinklers.
One thing that really stands out. We made several changes as the project went along, adding and changing plants, adding sprinklers to a new area, etc. They had no problem with making these changes, and while we paid some extra cost, they did not nickel and dime us on every change like some contractors do.
In the end, the yards are beautiful, it was done professionally--and on budget.
I highly recommend Chon and his team.

The men where 5 hrs. late however It was a holiday weekend and they apologized and worked efficiently cleaning away over growth in my front yard.
Took all cuttings away and did a wonderful job of cleaning up.

This is the second time we've had LHS perform work at our home. Mr Padilla and his team were just as AMAZING this time as they were the first time. The work was done qiuckly, accurately and in a timely, professional manner. They were on time and cleaned up after the job was done. When thay were finished, you couldn't even tell they were ever there. What we were left with is a BEAUTIFUL new fence/gate as well as gorgeous new plants and a new tree.
We could hardly tell they were even here as Mr. Padilla and his team were so quiet while working. NO blasting radios or loud voices that would disturb the neighbors. There seems to be nothing overlooked by the LHS team when doing a job!
On top of this EXCELLENT work quality comes VERY reasonable pricing! It stunning the quality of work you get for such a good price. We would STRONGLY recommend to anyone that you call Mr. Padilla and the LHS team for an estimate. They do it all and they do it TOP NOTCH! Do yourself a favor and hire LHS Landscaping. I'd yanked out my front yawn a few years ago, planted some drought-tolerant native CA flowering bushes and also installed a drip irrigation system. One of the sprinkler heads had broken recently, I'd also thrown my back out a few weeks ago so the yard was looking pretty rough from lack of attention. My house is up for Mills Act inspection, a historical district tax break/civic pride incentive. I wanted to make the best impression possible and needed a good weeding done as the inspection was looming. LHS was the 4th landscaper I contacted after two I emailed who never bothered to respond, and one who made an appointment with me and never showed up, or thought to call me back. When Chon showed up this past Tuesday night after fighting traffic he was patient, kind, listened to my needs and offered up some very good suggestions. He promised to come by on Thursday to do the work. Imagine my delight when, on Thursday morning, I pulled out of my garage and saw a beautifully-weeded, freshly re-mulched front yard. Not only did he come by a day earlier than promised, but his crew left the yard cleaner than they found it, and went above and beyond in the little unexpected details they attended to.
Needless to say my faith in contractors has been restored a hundredfold, I've found my new landscaper for regular maintenance and have a few more yard projects that I know Chon and his crew will be able to help me with, and knock out of the park as well

In the past, we have had some bad experiences with some contractors to say the least. But we are THRILLED to report that LHS Landscaping Services is without a shadow of a doubt, THE BEST CONTRACTOR we have ever hired! Our first meeting with owner Chon Padilla went GREAT and it only got better from there. His professionalism and good nature came through immediately. We were put at ease right away. Chon Padilla is very personable. He isn't pushy, he LISTENS to what his customers want in their project. He doesn't try to change your mind on projects/ideas, he does however offer many suggestions that are tremendously helpful to achieve your objectives.
His crew started the very next day after we signed the contract with Mr. Padilla. They were here every morning at 7-7:30am to get going and didn't leave until well into the evening. They kept working until the job was finished each day. They cleaned up thoroughly EVERYDAY after work before they left. Mr. Padilla's crew didn't bother us in any way, were always polite, courteous, and professional. The was no music, yelling, or any turmoil. We hardly ever knew that they were here. All of the guys on Mr. Padilla's crew performed an outstanding job. They didn't miss a thing. Every concern was addressed as the project moved along. It took them only 14 working days from start to completion.
The quality of the work is AMAZING! From the stackable pave stone planter and retaining wall to the sod installation and irrigation system, the beautiful selection of plants by Mr. Padilla, we can hardly even recognize our backyard. Chon and the LHS team transformed our backyard from a desolate, decrepit desert of dirt and stumps into a LUSH, GREEN, BEAUTIFUL beyond words PARADISE! While everything they did was outstanding, the natural rock waterfall was STELLAR! It far exceeded our wildest dreams. It has become the focal point of our backyard.
In conclusion, we would be remiss if we didn't mention how INCREDIBLY reasonable his prices are. Such high quality at such a great price is hard to find in this day and age, but Mr. Padilla was able provide this. Do yourself a favor and hire LHS Landscaping, you'll be so glad you did! We sure are!

Overall, the initial work proceeded well, & the workers & supervisor were very friendly and accomodating. However, I soon learned that if I didn't closely watch the work progress, the contract instructions/specs were not closely followed. As a result, some work had to be redone, such as improper grading for water runoff. The supervisor also had some disagreement with the manufacturer's instructions/specifications for the artificial turf installation. I called & also visited the turf manufacturer to confirm, & had to have LHS come back after the job was completed to correct the problem. In addition, the workers did not properly clean the mortar from all of the flagstone. I did not notice this until after the mortar dried completely & they completed the job & left. I then cleaned the flagstone myself.

"with all due respect to my client and in the interest of not loosing any future work due to this report I would like to state that : 90% of our work its performed as per specifications provided by landscape architects plans, in this project i regret if I did not completely followed his instructions as he intended from plan he provided. in regards to manufacturers instructions as per how much infield to use per square feet of synthetic turf, I advice client that since I was using premium turf type it was not best to use all quantity recommended by manufacturer for premium turf because it from my experience too much infield makes for too hard of a surface to walk or play on, I recommended that if after a few days he felt it needed more I would come back & I did. I thank this client for work he provide my company, the experience I have obtained from running my business since I was 17 years old (25yrs in service) gives me the confidence to advice clients of what would work best for their properties, some take all or part of my advice but I am equally happy & grateful to work in their projects. Chon Padilla was very prompt in responding to my call. He came out and gave several options for "updating" our patio area. Work was scheduled the following week. The whole job took only 2 hours as Chon brought a crew of five workers. Everything looks great. Mr. Padilla also does other work such as property repairs. I am going to follow up with him for some home repairs.

I found them on Angie's List. They were fast and efficient; four guys came out and it took them about an hour to do what I needed them to do. The only thing that was not right was that they were supposed to be here at 10 a.m. but I had to call them at noon to find out where they were. They did not show up until about 5 p.m. I realize they were busy and I was the last person they had on their list but they still should have called. They were A-plus, perfect otherwise.

I met with Chon, the owner and we agreed on a scope and price for our front yard. He told me that they would begin the very next and be done by the end of the day. (I was amazed and maybe a little skeptical) He said they would begin working the next day at 9:00 am.
The crew showed up at 8:00 am and by 9:00 am had everything demoed. The new plants, lighting and pavers arrived at 10:00 am, by 3:00 pm the entire job was completed. They did an amazing job, we really love out new front yard and have already received many compliments and its only the first day of installation.
I would definitely recommend this company and plan to use them again in the near future.

The job went really well. The price was good. We had gotten quotes from other places and they were good. My only complaint is that they seemed very busy. It took a long time getting the job started. We went through the quoting process in April, and he told us it would be an issue in the summer. Once they got started it only took about 2 1/2 weeks. I wold definentially recommend them if they have the luxury of potentially waiting to get started. Other than that the price was fair and time to completion to completing the job was fair. There craftsmanship was not "stellar", it was good. If you look really hard look you might see the seams might not be straight.

They did excellent work. They were fast, followed the landscape architect's plan perfectly, and came in under the quoted budget. We are very pleased with the work and would be happy to recommend and/or use them again for more work.
