D & J Lara's Haul Away and Clean-Up Service

They worked with my schedule. They were well prepared and we're very patient with my hesitant decision making. They worked quickly and left things orderly.

They arrived promptly, reviewed our needs with us and told us what they could do and what they could not take at this time (some very old paint cans that need to go to a special place). They gave us a very reasonable bid and we accepted on the spot. They proceeded to do the job and worked very efficiently and did not seem to mind when we got in their way. They had a large truck and were able to accommodate our needs.They were pleasant, professional and a joy to have working at our home. They cleaned up quickly and left our areas in much better shape then when they started. We will use them again when the needs arrives.

I called D&J Lara's to remove two garage tables. They came in in the same afternoon as promised and haul away the stuff. Very happy with them.

EXCELLENT service and price, the total amount I put above ($500) was actually for 2 different service calls. He was so good the first time I called him back and had more furniture removed (the second time he only charged $70). Very friendly and professional and fast. I had called 3 other providers and 2 were kind of slimey and rude, and the third heard that I had "office" furniture and wanted to charge me a high "corporate" rate. So I will use D&J for ALL trash removal going forward!

The decide that on November 1st, 2012 they would pick-up things like furniture and other things, which slowed down our packing and we lost precious time.
On November 3rd, 2012 They arrive on time and cleared out the garage and complained about the work, even thought they gave me a quote, earlier in the week and they needed another $30.00 for completeion...... They did rescedule, when my back went out from friday to saturday which was nice, had they not decided at the last minute to come early that week, my back would not have gone out.
They also kept telling me not to use my usual trash bin business and call them, the problem with that is where to put the junk ?
I felt that they should have been honest and made an appointment with me, so that I could have had time to pack items and not just put them aside, since I only had a few people helping me and not real help, it was hard to get things done.
DO ask questions and get it in writing and always request that if they need to make two trips, that they give you 24 hours notice and not 1 hour.

These guys were great! I initially found their company in the PennySaver and thought I'd check them out on Angies List. They only had one rating but it was steller and they were only one city away. I called to ask if they could handle a pick up for the same day. He asked what items I wanted picked up and I provided the best description I could. I was told I'd he'd have to check if he'd be able to handle my job and call me in 20 minutes. I started to worry when 15 minutes passed and received no phone call. My concern was unwarranted since I received a call at 18 or 19 minutes and with good news they could help if 10:20 was OK. I agreed. As I waited for my appointment a hauler truck like the ones seen at the swapmeet and neighborhood "recyclers" drive by my house around 9:45. I called to see if they just passed my house. He said no,  restated the time of the appointment, and would be there as scheduled. He and another worker arrived right on time, as promised, and in a professional clean truck . The men were dressed appropriately, clean and ready to work. They were conscientious and obviously big on safety. I could tell by their truck's mechanical lift gate so they didn't have to do heavy unneccessary lifting. They parked on the street and placed two safety cones one in the front and back of the truck for visibility- the cones were clean too with reflective tape.
They were quick, efficient, friendly, and helpful. They were not afraid to get the heavy stuff and insisted I not help and hurt my back. All the while they hauled the heaters, filters and pumps. They used brawn or brain (hand trucks) as needed. I ended up finding more stuff to haul than I mentioned on the phone and was afraid it would be too much to add.  There was no reason for concern since they were great!  I was told they had more space and it would save me money in the long run to get rid of as much stuff possible. When all was finished I asked how much I owed. He thought he said $95, but  didn't argue when I mentioned I thought it was $85. I immediately followed with an agreement of $95. They deserved every bit and the tip I gave too. I've used a couple of haulers in the past, but this by far is the most professional service I've ever hired. I will be calling them again as I continue my garage clean up job.
